Somewhere out there is someone from the cities who's struck out twice now trying to drive to Decorah and Hudson.

    8/10

Doesn't leave the same impression that came with the first and second batches.

    Yes.

The first batch was best though. My skepticism of TG's competence without Mike grows with every release, which is a huge bummer.

If anyone wants to get rid of their "shabby" King Sue, I'll take it. :sunglasses:

Would be a 10/10 if you didn't let it sit in the sun getting all skunky and stuff!

Longtime lurker, but the reaction to TG here is just comical.

Has the beer slipped? Some of them, I guess. A little bit. What's better in this area? Todd the Axe Man might be better than the current Sue. I chuckle at the comments about TG's "competence". They went from a 9.5 out of 10 to a 8.5/9. Hell, MoZee (made after the former brewer left) might be in their Top 5 IPA/APA batches. Just a killer beer. Truly the model of incompetence, lulz.

I guess it wouldn't bother me if the hype wears off and it gets a little more available. Thankfully I was able to get a bottle of King Sue. It was good. I only had the first batch, and enjoyed this about as much as I enjoyed that, but I didn't quite get as wild about it as some. I'm just glad to have really good beer coming out of my home state, that I can drink on a pretty regular basis and couldn't really care less if the owner has a cryptic and obnoxious Twitter account or the ZOMGs head brewer is gone. The beer is still really good, and until it's not, or something better comes along, it's getting my vote.

    I wouldn't call "8/10" bitching.

Sorry I didn't think it was up to par. Am I suppose to keep quiet if I don't give it an A+?

For the most part you guys are missing much of what I and others are discussing...key point, discussing. You can call it hate but it's not true. There may have been some "hating on" posts, I don't recall them all, but those are not what I speak of. Again, because we come here to discuss the beers they're putting out and lately it hasn't exactly been in the highest regard, does not equate to mocking and calling the brewery shitty. Look, I appreciate what they've done, are tying to do (beer-wise, I'll hold on the other opinions) and hopefully do again....there's my appreciation. But because I "appreciate" them I'm going to opine on the beers and just because they come from TG I'm not going to call them amazing if they're not.

"But what else is there to get in the area?" "It's the best stuff we can get." Fine, valid notions. I get it. But why should that hamper any discussion on how some of their notable beers are not the caliber they once were? Many of you think they're the same, no drop-off has occurred. Fine. Some of us don't...don't hate the palate, hate the game. Also, I don't even know who the fudge Mike is. I know he brewed some good beer, but because it's not him brewing it has no bearing on my opinion of the beers lately (though there's a lot of corelation if I were a gambler)

For real though, drinking something like this in bright sun is not a good idea. It does not take long at all (90 seconds I think) for the hop oils to start getting all fucked up from the light. I wish places wouldn't have outdoor beer gardens (or at least have lots of shade) and whatnot because it really isn't doing the beer any favors.
