Oddside El Dankerino

You may see that with Greenbush and Oddside- Short's is Michigan only, though. Forever.

 

Had it on tap and out of the bottle, preferred it on tap and really love it overall. Also don't forget breweries like Kuhnhenn, Perrin, and Griffin Claw, we sure should be the king of craft.

 

i've always wondered why a brewery the size of Short's or New Glarus doesn't distribute outside their home state. Is it loyalty to the home state or just a genius business plan? Either way, Short's rules and makes Michigan a better place to live and is the ONLY brewery that satisfies my need for non stop special releases.

Because they can't even adequately supply their own state, which is more important to them.

 

El Dankerino was stellar on tap last year and horrible in bottles. This year I am happy to say both are out of this world and tasting top notch. Such a good brew.

 

I haven't had this years. Last year I thought it was pretty blah (bottle). I'll have to revisit this beer.

 

Yeah, was not impressed by the bottle I had last year. Surprisingly un-dank. I'll have to give it another shot.

As far as distribution, I'd argue that if Founders and Bell's were Michigan-only, then Michigan would be the king of craft. Everybody knows limited distribution only adds to hype, and hype tastes delicious.

Yep, last year's bottles were no where near what draft was. Bottles are much better this year.

 

Had this for the first time last night (bottle) and I thought it was outstanding.

 

I had a bottle of it last year and thought it was a malt bomb, but willing to give it another shot.

 

I'll have to give this another try as well. I wasn't impressed last year either. I looked at it the other day, and decided to try Pink Skirt a try instead.

 

Agree with most of you, here- last bottle I had was underwhelming. Glad to hear it's tasting better, will have to pick one up.

 

Honestly I thought that this was one of their more poorly-balanced beers. Decent but not the super high quality I expect from Odd Side.

 

I got to drink last year's right off the bottle line and was great. this year's s awesome

 

Bought a single and just didn't care for it. I expected it to be more dank, but it was sweet. Too sweet for me to be honest. To each their own.

 

awesome beer. i was going to start an el dankerino is back thread when i saw it again a few weeks ago.

i have never had one produce much head though
