From the Seven Days piece..."Well, I'm getting my old sour project back up and running after having been wiped out in the flood, so that's all exciting stuff, but that more than anything is for our own entertainment. That's just a side project to have fun and to break up the day-to-day."

This would be perfect for the aluminum growlers they got and filled less than a month before they closed the brewery to the public. Petit Mutant is one of may all time faves and I'd love to have more Kimmich sours.

Um....they had case limits at the existing brewery for a long time prior to closing to the public. It wasn't no-limit since 2011-2012.

I think you are wrong on this. It was not until July of 2013 that they imposed a 2 case per person limit. Before July of 2013 there were no limits, with the exceptions of holiday weekends.

They closed to the public on 11/15/13. So they had limits of 3, then 2, then 1 pp for only 4 months.

I hope there is a 1 case limit, personally I'd rather see many people get a case.

Plus it would keep DB secondary market A-holes form buying up large amounts and reselling them at jacked city pricing illegally.

I 100% agree on a 1-case pp limit. I was just pointing out the way of the old days.

I like Focal but IMHO, The Crusher beats both of them!

I don't see why people need a case. What's wrong with a 4 pack or two?

Why do people need a case?

I don't need a case, but mightily prefer it, and it makes a trip to VT from MA much more realistic/appealing than a 4 pack or two of HT. A 4 pack might not even last me the weekend in Vermont, let alone bringing any home. I usually pick up a case, and spread it around to family and friends, and then enjoy the the rest of it (still more than a 4 pack).

I think the owners are all for allowing a 1 case pp limit, if not more. If they have a 4 pack or 2 4 pack limit, then the traffic will be 8x worse than it would be for a case as well. That is just one reason among many from the business POV.

John has mentioned that part of the reason they didn't opt to pour pints or make the second brewery more of a hang out spot was to help local businesses around Stowe outside of ski season when things slow down. People will visit to grab a case, book a hotel, eat in Stowe/Waterbury, shop, etc...

I imagine most locals won't grab cases, unless they're trading or throwing a party, so it should even out.

Driving home from Waterbury you see how depressed a lot of VT is (I mean to the point where you almost feel like crying). I wonder why they couldn't put their brewery in one of those areas, that so could have so used their presence- instead of one of VT's richest- hell, they probably could have purchased an entire downtown in some parts- and still been near the highway.

Because they don't live in Vermont, or drove 2 1/2 hours each way or more to find Heady Topper.

The limits should be: A four pack for locals, a case if you have out of state plates.

Sorry for likely repeat question- but when is this second brewery expected to be up and running? Will be visiting again late September and really hoping for a regular supply of focal banger by then.
