While uncommon, I've seen Corona in cans for years. If it isn't skunked, it tastes like a standard macro lager to me. Kind of similar to MGD. Hence, I never understood paying 2x as much for it. It isn't horrible, though. If it was cheaper I'd probably choose it over a Bud or MGD.
Corona Light on the other hand...oh man. That might be the single worst non-flavored beer I've ever had. It smells like old shoes.

Was in Mexico last week, resort had Corona in the can. It tasted like $hit...So I was drinking Modelo instead. Tasted better.

Why is there a thread on this?

Probably because this is Beer Advocate, and the topic relates to beer

That might be in the case in some markets. Around here, the cans have been the standard size. The only difference I've seen in the last week or so is that they are no longer blue (like the can that CraigP83 posted above). They are now the same artwork as the bottles.

The Corona cans have been around here (Southern California) for awhile as well. Now if Pacifico was in cans here I'd be inclined to buy that.

I totally agree, no one is putting a gun to your head and forcing you to drink a cold Corona.
I started drinking beer in highschool and the first style I started on was Lagers, Now I drink better quality beer but I will occasionally want a nice ice cold refreshing Tecate, Corona, Dos Equis ect... Point is I guess I'm not as much of a snob as other hipsters here that knock/hate on "shit beer". Just drink what you like, and enjoy.
