Oh come on now, Ben. You dumping KS into a pint glass (if you have it, idk)? With all that glassware? I don't think it's unreasonable for someone to assert they prefer a different glass for different beers.

 

I'm guessing that's how some people interpreted all of the Saga posts of yours in the past!

People can drink beer out of whatever they want as long as they enjoy it. If I ever get a KS I might just pour it in a 'das boot' and dome it.

I know. I actually think it's been longer. There has been very little mention of that one place that starts with S also. Everyone is too focused on this TG bitch fest.

 

So I didn't have the last batch of the King. However, this I was VERY VERY impressed with this. Had alongside some Perm Funeral that is pretty fresh from 3 Floyds and there was just no comparison. The King smelled, looked, felt better and seemed more complex. I was super high on the PF, but this blew me away!

Basically, I could give a shit about what people are saying its different, better, worse, etc. Peoples pallets change and with as complex as I think this recipe has to be, it would be impossible to make it match identically batch to batch...no matter who is brewing it. Mad props to TG with the King. It is rightly and justly named!

 

Personally, I never really thought it did. Sosus, when it's on, is TG's best DIPA. And it's not a circus to try and get it.

Last batch was way off for mouth feel (flavor was on point), but given the way King Sue turned out, I'm fairly confident Sosus will get back to where it can be.

I prefer to chug KS out of 'das horn'. It allows for a more controlled pour down the gullet.

 

Eh, I don't think glassware really matters...

Kind of off topic, but is it just me or does Hill farmstead beer smell like cheap plastic?

 

I've procured a bottle of King Sue and to do its namesake justice, I'm going to consume it from a hollowed out dinosaur bone while wearing a cardboard Burger King crown. Cheers, all!

Listening to my 76 year old mom who lives in Missouri tell me about why she won't pick up beer A for me or beer B for me because the breweries are in unsavory neighborhoods honestly has become more interesting beer conversation than what's happening in this thread.
