Lagunitas 2015 Release Schedule

I had my Equinox last night, to echo everyone else, a really delicious brew. I'd never had equinox hops before and I have to say they're a very interesting and tasty variety. There's a grassiness to them that I really liked. Will be buying another bottle tomorrow for the weekend!

 

It would be a dream to get Hop Stoopid in a sixer.

 

Equinox was a decent beer, but a confused concept...

An 8% abv APA, hopped like an IPA, but with a heavier malt profile than you would expect. It is toasty, rich, and full of caramel. There are a ton of residual dextrins which make it even more difficult to drink.

I definitely sense the vegetal green pepper, eucalyptus, lime, and papaya profile of the Equinox hops... Not my favorite. The recipe needed to be heavier on Simcoe IMO.

 

Visited brewery and taproom for first time yesterday. Great place to hang out and have a few. The wife even had a good time, and she doesn't drink beer. The Gnarywine was excellent and liked the stouts so much I brought home bombers of the Imperial and Cappuccino ( drinking Cappuccino as I type ). Will go back agin this week to try other beers ( Equinox is on the list). One of my favorite Brewers by far.

 

I've thought about it, but I always walk out with some other beer. I'd love not to hate one of their brews. If I see it, I'll pick it up-just for you!

 

24 packs of IPA are on shelves now. 24.99$ ... hard to find another ipa of the same caliber for $1 a bottle.

 

Good point! I never realized Wild was seasonal until now--but sure enough, the Lagunitas web site confirms it...

 

Looks like this is the new seasonal bomber. Hitting shelves in the next week or two.

Not sure how/if it differs from the first ScareCity release. Maybe this version isn't dry-hopped?

Anyone know exactly when Born Yesterday is coming out ?

 

No, but last year's was 'borned on 10/27,' and I am under the impression that this year's will be out a little earlier. Watch this space and/or their website and social media. When it's coming, it'll be hard to miss.

Edit: They did just post a picture today of what appears to be a fresh hop harvest. So, it might just be as little as another 2+ weeks or so...

 

Are they doing Lucky 13 again this year? That stuff flies off the shelves, and it is one of my favorites.
