Rhode Island Stouts

Ravenous Coffee Milk Stout is solid.

 

Sorry, I don't do the trading thing anymore but I just wanted to give you props on the YOB avatar.

 

Ravenous is only screw top growlers. The one I like is Proclamation's zzzlumber. I believe he will be set up for crowlers soon.

 

Foolproof Revery is a solid impy stout and their porter raincloud is realy good. Also Narragansett makes an Impy stout. Also it's a black IPA but Revival is probably the best IMO.

 

Grey Sail Dark Star - BA Stout in Buffalo Trace barrels.

 

Lumber is legit, better than KBS all day!!

 

I would say Narraganset's autocrat coffee milk stout is about as Rhode Island as it gets.

 

If you're just looking for anything dark from RI, check out Foolproof's Rain Cloud Porter. It's true Narraganset is as Rhodey as you get haha

 

Except it is made in New York, wamp wamp

 

But it's at least a good beer, which you can't say about Foolproof.

 

Proclamation is the only brewery in RI IMO.

 

Ouch. I'd take Raincloud Porter over almost any beer made in this state. To the OP, if you're willing to blur the line between stout and porter, I'll send you a can of Raincloud.

 

I can't seem to figure out how to pm, maybe I haven't been a member long enough. Anyway, I have a couple of Grey Sail stouts from Westerly, RI if you are interested, maybe I can get pm's?

 

Rhode Island beer is getting better by the day. IMO Foolproof really only falls short on its hoppy stuff Two words "wicked bitter". BY is sub par, but recent improvements to King of BY were much needed. Raincloud, LFU, and Barstool all solid beers. Augtoberfest was a miss, but who cares its a seasonal. Other mentionable RI beers I intend to try when opportunity arises.
