My best beach beer is Heady, it can't be vacation without HT in the cooler. Lots of other great stuff too, Shape of Hops, One Claw.

Landshark tall cans are a solid beach/lawnmower beer, generally priced well and better than Corona for what they are.

Sculpin, Jai Alai or Troegs Perpetual. Cans all the way. Not a fan of bottles on the beach.

I live on the beach and I see people drinking from bottles all the time. Why cans? (I do support cans, but I always wonder why there seems to be a predilaiction for cans on a surface that it's nearly impossible to break a bottle on)

brown bottles look ugly at the beach. cans don't look ugly.
also, some beaches are less cool with alcohol, and the brown bottle is a bit conspicuous.
    and ugly.

Because people that have been drinking can clumsily break bottles on plenty of things other than the surface they are on, and broken glass at the beach can be a real issue.

Dress that ugly bottle in a paper bag.

Well I'd much rather have someone litter with a broken bottle than leave their can on the beach in front of my house. the next high tide takes the glass away crushes it and turns it back into sand, but the cans just roll up to the surf line and stay there until someone (me) picks it up. I guess it depends on what beach you are talking about.

Well I live close to a beach myself so I sure hope they pick up/clean up both options...I just don't want to step on any broken glass.
Back to the OP, I love a stiegl radler on occasion at the beach.

I have on my porch a Bud Light Lime can (shudder) that is unopened and when I found it, it had pelagic barnacles on it one inch long. which means it was floating around out there for more than a year.
