Or Marron Acidife. I won't complain about either, and I seriously hope this beer and the following will curb all the hatred people were spewing over the anniversary beers.

Why would it curb it? Just because they over-produced and can't get rid of them doesn't mean we won't bitch when they try to force them down our throats as a special release.

Ohh another really good beer I haven't seen anyone talk about from the Copperversay was the Simcoe Muis at Phantom Carriage. I thought a great marriage of hops and light sour. I could drink that thing all day

I'm hoping for both since I haven't had either.

"Offering for sale" is "forcing them down our throats" now? The anniversary and holiday sales have always had their ebbs and flows of rare and common releases, and always had some people excited while others yawn. If you've been a member for a long time and tend to buy more on first release, you're going to find most of these sales boring. If you're a newer member who missed some of these the first time around or want more of an old favorite, it's an awesome program. I'm not sure what people expect, but it's not like this year's anniversary sale is profoundly different from past years.

I of all people obviously have had my issues as far as some of the Bruery's decisions, but complaining about the choices on archive sales is nitpicking the shit out of things.

I agree. It's silly to complain about an archive sale simply because they're offering stuff you don't deem as worthy or the such. I'm sure what isn't your whale may be someone else's missed bottle for their collection. And that's perfectly fine.

I mean, it's not like they started blending the anniversary beers into other over stock stuff and selling it. We're not at Smoking Wood level over saturation or anything.

Xul and squid already said it, but I'll echo them. No one said anything about a 'special release'. Archive sales are just that, archives. Beers no longer available, made available again. Bitching because they aren't what you deem worthy is stupid. Bitching because you'd rather they be more rare is stupid. And suggesting you're forced to buy anything they ever put up is stupid. And why would you assume they 'can't get rid of' anything? The beers they've been selling are just back stock they held on to, just like every other archive release. Ichigo Highway came up last month, do you think they over produced and couldn't get rid of that? I assure you, had it been made available when it was new until it was gone, we would never have seen that come up at all, ever.

Marron Acidife is such a great beer. as is ISO:FT. Does someone know the differences between the two? Aren't they practically the same beer with maybe a little extra "stuff" added to the ISO:FT?

My issue is the archive sale is one of the selling points of joining the membership. If it was going to be two weeks of anniversary beers that they can't sell any other way (don't give me this "they held some back" stuff), then call it what it is.

Thanks dude. Just had my last Marron Acidife about 6 months ago and it was amazing, really hoping to get another!

So how else are they supposed to sell archived beer? I know for a fact that shops would grab these up if they had the chance. Oh wait, then you'd cry that they well selling society only beer (that you would never buy anyway) to people that were not members.

I don't remember access to the archive sale listed in the membership description.

Wait, what? Isn't this the first time they've done online anniversary sales for the societies? I don't remember any last May and the archived bottles sold last year in person were available for everyone. If you joined RS because of an online month-long sale they've never done before (so how would you even know about it last fall?) then I don't know what to tell you.

I understand the anniversary beer fatigue, but they also put up Fruet and two Hoarders beers, one of which was a one bottle included allocation and no additional bottles available for purchase (and it's still up).

Yeah the archive sale is not one of the selling points of the membership.

It would be interesting to go back in time and discuss this with our founding (beer) fathers. Explain to them that in the future grown men buy memberships to buy beer and then complain when the brewery tries to sell them beer.

I'd be curious to get their take on it
