Just a public service announcement that their entire stock of hops are 30% off right now. I have never made a purchase from them but they all appear to be 2014 crops.
Thanks for the heads up. Positive experiences with having them ship? (looking into the cost of that now)
I haven't bought from them before. Their shipping prices seem high so you do lose a little of the savings if your only buying a small amount
Agreed with the prices seeming a bit higher than I'd like. They do have quite a few varieties that don't seem readily available to me at the local shops, so that's worth noting.
I bought a couple lbs of hops from them when they were doing the presale in January, and everything went pretty smoothly. The Citra I bought went on backorder for a few days, but if I remember right, I got most of my order on a Thursday and the Citra the following Tuesday. Shipping on 4 lbs to Missouri was $12.16.
I pre ordered 15 lbs of 2014 crop hops for this season from them, and also just ordered another 7 lbs from their sale hops. Fast shipping and reasonable rate for me. I placed the last order on Saturday and they are set to be delivered on Wednesday. They had great prices, the hops I wanted and they had both pellet and whole which I use both so it worked out great. I believe they also have a winexpert wine kit sale going on right now for those that are interested.
There are consumer protection laws prohibiting businesses from engaging in this kind of deceptive pricing practices.
Perhaps you should file a report. Seriously though... are you angry that they have frequent sales? (I'm only assuming they do based on this thread. I've never bought from them.)
If it's a great price then buy, if not then dont. Hate when customers buy things and then say they were 'talked' into it. We are all grown ups here. Deceptive to who??? They are cheaper, bottom line.
