Green Man Maceo Release?

Exactly. I mean I really want the bottles but I'll have my wife, sister, brother in law and others with me. All of whom give no shits about standing in line for a beer so I may not be waiting.

 

Good to see everyone is pumped for the Maceo release! It's going to be lots of fun and we are focusing on organizing it to be very streamlined process so you can get your bottles quickly and then enjoy the day of amazing beer, music, and food we have lined up. Hopefully this will answer everyone's questions

On May 24th, Green Man Brewery will release Maceo, an Imperial Sour Brown Ale with Oregon Cherries, aged in Rum Barrels. The bottles will go on sale at 2 pm on the patio at 27 Buxton Ave in Asheville, NC. There is a 2 bottle limit. No presale.

When you arrive, get in line at the wristband station on the patio to purchase a one or two bottle wristband, which will go on sale at 2 pm. Then head directly over to the bottle pick-up station where you will receive your bottles. No bottle pick up after 5 pm. We will have a CASH ONLY bar on the patio for cold bottled flagships to drink while waiting in line.

This is a very limited release, so arrive early and stick around! We will have a special CASH ONLY sour bar with the only keg of Maceo and rumor has it he will be bringing along some of his hard to find friends appearing throughout the day. Also we will have 2 special guest taps.

Hank West from Hank West and the Smokin' Hots will be setting the mood with some funky sax tunes, and there will be a complementary cheese table courtesy of Whole Foods.

The Maceo release is an official event for Asheville Beer Week. Pucker up and taste the funk! And bring CASH!!

 

Great info. So to be clear if we get there at open we can Immediately purchase wristbands and then wait until 2 for the pick up station to open?

Nevermind. I read this incorrectly.

 

So yea looks like wristbands and beer go on sale at 2 pm. With them having cash beer may be able to convince the friends/wife to hang around for an hour and 1/2 and drink beer there while we wait in line for wrist bands.

 

Our regular bar will also be open at our regular Sunday time, 1 o'clock for anyone not waiting in line, accepting cards and cash per normal

 

Sorry if I'm an idiot and missed it in the above post but are the Maceo bottles cash only as well?

Will there be separate lines for wristbands & the sour draft bar?

Are you taking any measures to curb line-cutting?

Are people allowed to re-enter the line for bottles after they receive their first allotment?

What is the final cost per bottle?

 

The sour bar will be inside the taproom, seperate from our regular bar, with just one tap of rotating special sour Green Man beers at a time. It will be cash only. The sour guest taps will be at the regular bar along with our flagships seasonals and specialties which you may pay with cash or card. The wristband line will be on the patio and you may pay with cash or card for your bottles, but the beers being sold on the patio to drink will be cash only. We have hired bouncers to address the line cutting issue. The Maceo bottles are 20 each.

 

Will these be tapped at 2pm?

 

If I am understanding this correctly, while waiting in line for the wristbands you can get beers from the patio bar but if you want a sour beer you need to go into the taproom and ask those in line to hold your place. Sour beers may or may not be tapped before the 2:00, it is still not quite clear. Sounds somewhat confusing, particularly if the wristbands are not distributed until 2:00.

 

i'm expecting this to be just as bad as snozzberry.

 

Just figure it out while you're there. It will be fine people.

The sour bar opens at 2, so that right after the first people in line get their bottles they can go get themselves rare green man sour or guest tap. When one kicks, a different one will be tapped
