    Good morning BAs! Happy Memorial Day weekend! A quick zwickel from yesterday's haul outside Buffalo. Many thanks to @TurkeyFeathers and Ryan from Consumer Beverages for all their help - got an embarrassing amount of beer - conspicuous consumption yesterday and for the next month!

    Weihenstephaner Korbinian, a fine doppelbock indeed, and lucky I was to find one just a little over 2 months old. Really smooth, almost creamy, with a satisfying dark bread/earth/coffee tinged finish.

    Anyone care for the results of my KBS/SMS side-by-side?

    Unfortunately, the difference in head color did give away which brew was which. Fortunately, I found they were actually quite difference in overall flavor - primarily the overall sweetness level, and the barrel characteristics. I rated them blind, assuming that I could be wrong in my guess, and just went by my preference.

    I don't want to bog down WBAYDN? with a massive post, so if you're interested in my results, I created a new thread (with a poll!). Feel free to visit and chime in. :slight_smile:

    I can only imagine how well this ages for a DIPA. Fresh is so juicy and the only 9% brew I can chain drink.

    Steady Habit - Our Daily Bread, IPA with citra, galaxy and topaz. The last one is a very nice variety.

    Pour is incredibly hazy, a la Trillium or pulpy orange juice. New England style for sure. Aroma is juicy peach and dried apricot. Taste is an amalgamation of tropical flavors along with the apricot from Topaz. Nice bite to the mouthful but no harsh or lingering bitterness, drinks spot on for the abv (6%). Very well done.
