Considering everyone else posts what stores have what I figured I would join in. Didn't realize I wasn't allowed to inform people who might be interested about certain releases.

If you look at the industry posting rules on this site they state under Forum Spam:

    Forum Spam
Soliciting our users with your good or services will not be tolerated. Some examples:
    • Pimping events (see below).
    • Replying to threads with the fact that you have a beer in stock.
    • Urging users to visit your site, social media channel, app, or Kickstarter.
    • Having others spam for you.
Specifically, under bullet point 2 you reply to threads with beer you have in stock. This violates the rules here. People point out all the time places they see beer in stock. They don't work there. That's the difference. Fact you haven't been called out yet means no one has reported you or hasn't picked up on your spam.

There's a fine line when pointing out something is hitting Ohio and another to point out your store has it. I haven't reported you because I like reading your updates. Others may not be so kind. Welcome to BA Mr. Industry guy.

How do you know they don't work at a store?

He's only posting about sought after beers that everyone else is talking about or looking for. He's just trying to be helpful to anyone that might be looking for some of these beers. I personally don't see the controversy here.

Where I come from, snitches get stitches. I think folks (industry or not) informing others of where you can find sought after beers is a good service. C'mon people...

Well, since me trying to be helpful and informative has met with controversy (yes, I can see there are rules about this now) then I won't update that my store has anything anymore. I'll just comment that (insert beer here) has arrived in the great state of Ohio and you guys can all know we have it. Technically, probably still against the rules but it is what it is. Sorry fellas.

I think the rules here are... let's say odd. But in any case, feel free to PM me when those Grapefruit Sculpin cans come in.

How about we just permanently ban anyone who mentions a certain beer is at a certain store? The nerve of someone to do that is surely enough to be banned.

Back on topic, I got to try some Alpine on tap at...oh shit...well I had Nelson on tap somewhere and it was absolutely delicious. Can't wait to see it pop up at more places around town.

Is this draft exclusive for a while? Any word on bottles?

Also, I think this may have been broached in the last Ohio thread but I either didn't read it or forgot. Does anyone know what happaen 'Bear Republic' in Ohio? I was told it was realated to the drought in CA. That seems odd to me as other brewery's still distro here. Thanks.

You can tell where it was on tap, just as long as you don't work there. Otherwise, you are "unauthorized advertising".

They are capped on how much water they can use due to the Russian river flow reduction by the city. They pulled out of most midwestern/northeast states. Looks like the closest distribution to Ohio is eastern PA/NY city or North Carolina. They need an eastern facility. Lake Erie still has plenty of water left...

They are not near any source of fresh water other than Lake Sonoma which puts them in a different place as opposed to San Diego breweries I would guess. Limited groundwater as well since its uhhh a desert or something. Water rights are expensive, I know that. I definitely miss fresh Racer 5. That beer taught me to check for fresh bottles religiously.

    You don't.

Personally, I like reading your posts. You should continue to post what you get. Let me clarify some points.

I am merely pointing out there are rules here against pimping and promoting a store and stock they have. I don't agree with it, but those are the rules and its not my website. I also point out I don't report posts about it either. I point that out because I have visited more than one store where employees have been reported. That really pisses me off. Really? A-holes go out of their way to do that? I don't. I prefer to share and like when others share what they see as well. This thread has been great.

Honestly, makes me not even really want to be part of a website knowing people do that. I mean, if it was murder, ****, arson, under age nudy, treason, or perhaps a terrorist attack. Ok, maybe a good narcing is in order... Shame on any one (this site included) for shaming the promotion of beer sales... Also, Im pretty sure a person who reads that they can buy a 4 pack of KBS, then purchase it: isn't exatcly a victim... But that's awesome that they have rules that pretty much go directly against what this site what was for/got them noteriy... The purchase and consumption of craft beer!

There was a time when there were a bunch of threads promoting a store and what they had. As the Great Lakes forum you can imagine how it turned into a marketing engine across several states. It was a cluster. That's not the purpose of the site. To log into the Great Lakes forum and see nothing but store promos from Cleveland to Chicago. This thread doesn't promote any particular store. Rather, it promotes craft beer coming into the state of Ohio.

Twitter and Facebook is a great place to follow stores.

I'm done trying to offer any explanation on this sites policies. I may understand them even though I don't always agree with all of them. Those that run the site can step in from here. I'm not doing a good job of explaining it for them. Lesson learned.

I apologize if you thought that was geared towards you.... I have a job that I say "don't shoot the messenger" a lot. So I understand where you are coming from! I would rather be informed rather than not. I appreciate your factional input! To add to it from a critical stand point (not of you, but rather the site rules/policies) Why not just have a Forum/thread for it? That way, one can choose to vist or not. Let us choose to gamble on spam.... Again, not refering to you... Just seems like an odd policy. Thanks though for your help/info. Doesn't really pertain to me anyway, as I have establised biz with the same bottle shops.

They just need to bottle it already...it would be nice to get w/o having to go to them or finding it somewhere as a growler fill
