We’ll be releasing our second batch of Detritivore when our tasting room opens at 4pm on Friday, May 29th! Detritivore is made by taking the refermented cherries from Montmorency vs Balaton, and refermenting them a second time with young farmhouse ale fermented in stainless steel. While we enjoy the bright, jammy flavors and aromas of Montmorency vs Balaton, most of us here at Jester King prefer the more subtle, integrated fruit character in Detritivore. In fact, the combination of barnyard aromas from aged hops and fermentation with native yeast, with the soft tartness from a second fruit refermentation with native bacteria, yields one of our favorite beers.

Detritivore batch 2 will be available by the glass at our tasting room, as well as to go in 750ml bottles ($14/bottle, limit 2 per customer per day). Approximately 2,000 bottles are available. Aside from a few special events, we do not anticipate Detritivore being available outside of Jester King.

    Looking like better weather.

Batch 1 had about the same bottle count, was limit three instead of two, and lasted two weekends. This won't be gone in one.

Yay...was going to be up there this Saturday and was hoping for a relaxing time. Now probably will have to deal with insane crowds and long lines.

I highly doubt there will be insane crowds or long lines. Even for MvB, there were not lines throughout the day - it was just at the opening of the day that all the people and their mule-bros waited in. IF you showed up 30 min after opening, there was not much of a line.

And that was for a fruited sour. I doubt you will see much insanity there. But, if the weather holds out, you will have more people than the previous weekends as it would be better weather, but who knows.

Basically, I would not expect any waits to get bottles. And if there is one when you get there, wait 30 and I doubt there will be any.

Only 1k people need to go to sell it out. And, that does not seem too crazy to me considering they have extended hours on Sunday as well.

Not everyone that goes buys their two. In fact the better the weather the more "visitors" they get. Tap room waits are generally longer. I'm curious to see if extended hours influence the bottle counts, it'll definitely affect on site lasting power imho. Maybe locals will go later, but I think most people will still go early to either drive back to Houston (sorry couldn't resist, all in good fun), or will be afraid of sell out.

I don't think you understand. Every time there is a beer release it's cause for panic! :stuck_out_tongue:

This looks delicious; I'm going to Austin for my bachelor weekend June 12-14, this will probably be long gone by then, eh?
