I'm not sure if it was ever in bombers before, but this makes me very happy. Love this beer.

It was cans last year, disappointed they went the bomber route this year.

Yeah, the cans were awesome last year but I'll take whatever BHA I can get with a smile.

Great beer, great comic, poor choice of vessel. Those cans were perfect.

I think the problem with the cans is that they have a new canning facility, and by IL law they can only sell beer brewed on site. And the only way to distribute beer on site is through bombers.

I think the first time they brewed this, they put it in bombers. Then for the second release, they did cans. I believe this will be the 3rd release, obviously back in bombers.

Talked to some staff at the location on Lincoln Ave on a few occasions about the lack of canned beer at the retail store. As wolfpac stated, there are some archaic distribution laws in Illinois that do not allow Half Acre to sell beer that is canned in their new facility on Balmoral at the Lincoln Ave location. These laws are being revised as we speak though. They are good for Illinois and Chicago brewers for a variety of reasons...

I'm coming from Detroit, so do these releases last a good part of the day? Or am I fucked if I get there around 4-ish? Thanks for the help

Should be fine @Brianw508 last release galactic double daisy cutter lasted until about 9-10pm in bombers I believe and growler fills were still taking place the next afternoon.

You can also follow them on Twitter where they do a great job of letting people know the current inventory of bottles/growler fills that are remaining.

I am pretty surprised there isn't more hype around this beer. Got a can last year from a buddy in the area and thought it was just great. If he wasn't hooking me up with some more this year I would certainly be putting out some ISO offers...

We're going to a US Cellular store to tailgate. Not the stadium. We're just really big fans of their rollover data plans.
