The " Under the radar" thread went well, so let's try this. This forum is mostly dominated by chatter of beers from the I-5 corridor. Lets throw out some brewery lovin' for the other side of Cascada. Bend, Hood River, Barley Browns, Bale Breaker and couple others get mentions, who else deserves some sugar?

I've been a long time fan of Roslyn Brewing. Icicle does a great job. I recently had some tasty Iron Goat stuff (courtesy of @woemad ), and Snipes Mountain has done a consistently good job, even through several brewer changes.

I love Paradise Creek's Huckleberry Pucker berlinerweisse.

Anyone tried Hop Nation in Yakima, yet?

I'll give a shout to Prodigal Son out in Pendleton. I've only tried 3 or 4 beers of their beers, but they've all been solid and enjoyable. A worthy stop on that long road between Portland and Boise.

I'll give a shout-out to Icicle Brewing in Leavenworth, but this isn't exactly objective because the only time I've had their beer was after I'd just completed a 30+ mile, multi-thousand-foot elevation gain hike in the Enchantments. That'll kind of make any beer taste good.

If you ever find yourself in Federal Way, 99 Bottles brings over their bombers.

So does Beer Junction on occasion. Actually, come to think of it I have had Bootjack a couple times without doing the prerequisite hiking, and still thought it was very good. Put it in cans and it's a go-to IPA for me.

It is objective because their beers are really good.

Kinda random/off the beaten path but I was in Republic late last year and enjoyed a really nice Irish Red from Republic Brewing

Never been but White Bluffs is one of the more intriguing spots. Biere de Garde, Biere de Mars, Farmhouse stuff in Richland, WA.

It was a shame when Wild Earth closed up because they were making some great stuff. The brewer supposedly has a new project in the works and whatever that is will deserve attention.

Snipes Mountain also occasionally makes some incredible stuff.

I like most of Iron Horse's stuff with the exception of their IPA's. There new saison Farmlandia is surprisingly good as well.

Doesn't get much more under the radar than Zythum, which I hit last Saturday. Cool people and nice beers (though I only had two). Now that they own MickDuff's old system, their kegs might make it out of their tasting room and beyond Fairfield.

BTW, @beertunes, your thread title sounds disturbingly like an advertisement intended to frighten the consumer with a vision of a world without lubrication.:grimacing:

I've got a bottle of that in my fridge right now - it'll be the first Berlinerweisse I've ever had. Hopefully it will take away the taste of the lackluster service and lack of IPAs at PC last weekend.

Although on last week's NBS I mentioned having been underwhelmed by Paradise Creek (a combination of indifferent service and few interesting beers on tap - what non-nanobrewery in the PNW doesn't have an IPA on tap? Why have a prominently posted Imperial Stout when said stout is no longer on?), their bottled choices that have made it to the 'kan have been pretty good.
I'm hitting their Huckleberry Pucker right now. Although I've never had a Berlinerweisse before and have no idea if it's even in the ballpark of being stylistically correct, it's eminently crushable (or at least it would be in a can), and the Sacred Cow I had last night was tasty as well.

Oh, and @beertunes, no mention of Selkirk Abbey? Yeah, I know it's Idaho, but the folks in that forum seem to have ceded N.Idaho to the NW. They're definitely making some quality brews. I'm hoping that I'm able to hit them up for some BA Guilt next month.

I almost mentioned Selkirk, then remembered they're in Idaho. I guess time zone matters more than state boundaries after all.

I guess I was still kinda thinkin' under the radar, even though I didn't say it explicitly. Plus, I think SA gets attention from us wet-siders. Especially a certain guy in Bellingham.

Speaking of Selkirk, when did they start distributing west of the Cascades? I saw three or four of their bottles yesterday at Total Wine in Bellevue on my trip to snatch up some De Garde.

Probably about 6 months or so, through Browar Polska, IIRC. I think it's just to in and around Seattle.
