Was just thinking about making my way over there shortly, how is it? Possible to get beers at the bar? Mago still on?

Just left about a half hour ago. Mago was still on. There was still a line to get in (one in one out) growler line was moving a bit slow but that's understandable considering there was a lot more people at the bar getting pints.

Yep, just left myself and Mago is indeed still on. No line to get in though, things generally moved pretty quickly considering.

Highlight so far was a painless, short wait in the sun at the Deschutes event for Not the Stoic from a bottle and 2013 Abyss on draft.

    I am satisfied.

Caution: Rant coming...Went to Strangelove's yesterday to try their featured, Marshall Zukov's and/or Abraxas. Got there 45 minutes after start and both were gone. Beginning to feel PBW, although a great week, is way too crazy to make it worth it...
OK. End of rant (although I could go on:wink:)

The Strangelove event had a 4pm start, but they had tapped all the beers much earlier. I got in there around 2:30 and all the beers for the event were already pouring, at the time none of them had kicked.

Beer Week is one of the best weeks of the year, but it just depends how you approach it. If you are going to try to taste all of the rarest, most sought after beers, you can because some of them will be here, but be prepared for some frustration. If you just set out to try something you normally don't try or don't normally have access to (without whale hunting), you will have a much better week, and probably be in for a few pleasant surprises.

Same with @kapkenobi - we arrived at 3:00 and got seats immediately at the upstairs bar. I was very surprised everything was already flowing. By 4:00 it was mobbed upstairs. Luckily they eventually got the poor lone bartender some help. Service much improved after that point.

I also wanted to add that the Oxbow/Coppertail/Captain Lawrence event at Good Dog was incredibly well run. The place was not packed at all, and the staff was on-point. Some seriously good beers from Coppertail, I was impressed.

Maybe because it's way up in the burbs but Capone's sourfest was super chill. Got a table, ate some food, and got a ton of pours of world class sours, including 2009 Lou Pepe Gueuze, 2013 Supplication, Allagash Currant Affair, Ithaca Luminous, etc etc. Even left with a bottle of East End Gratitude. Good times!

I watched it kick. Fortunately, my wife had gotten served shortly shortly before me...

I was at Coppertail/Oxbow at U-Bahn. They really didn't seem to have it ready. Was supposed to start at 6, but they didn't start pouring until after 7... Both berliner weisses we ordered were almost completely flat. The Oxbow 28 was excellent, though.

i was at capones for the lost abbey event last night. 2009 lpg was STILL on. crazy. great event. Tomme Arthur was very nice, talked to everyone. saw him autograph a bottle which made me laugh (never saw that before).

That is disappointing. I have never been to U-Bahn before. Did they have a similar line-up to Good Dog, do you know?

I only glanced at Good Dog's lineup, so I'm not real sure.

No worries, this was the list at Good Dog:

    Captain Lawrence Rosso e Marrone
    Captain Lawrence Black IPA
    Captain Lawrence Yogurt Berliner
    Captain Lawrence Jack the D.R.I.P.A.
Coppertail Obey Your Thirst (lemon and lime Floridaweisse)
    Coppertail Free Dive IPA
Coppertail Brett Oxtail (collab with Oxbow)
Coppertail Passion of the Frank (passion fruit Floridaweisse)
    Oxbow Farmhouse Pale Ale
    Oxbow Bandolier

My favorite of that event was the Brett Oxtail. A seriously delicious beer!
