I hope it lasts as long as the Wild Bitter, or I'll need a proxy.

I think The Mrs., The Dog, and I will make the trip down from Spooner on Friday. Seems like a great excuse to take a long weekend. Even though it is a long drive, it will sure beat staring blankly at my workstation monitors, on a Friday afternoon in June.

Vintage 2014 is blend of 1, 2 and 3-yo beers aged in oak. "Complex citrus, horsey notes; fruity and farm aromas."

Bottles are $10, limit 2. Sales start by 9 am Thu-Sat 6/11-13 at New Glarus brewery.

As much as I want it to be as easy as the last release, I don't think we will get that lucky with it being a Geuze. Prepare for an explosion.

I was going to say the opposite since it isn't fruited...who knows

I believe it is a blend of years from the base sour blonde that is used to make Cran-bic. link

I hope that it isn't as sweet as Cran-bic was. Good beer but far too sweet for a "lambic."

Obviously age will have let the sugars get eaten, but it's still a little worrisome for me.

I hope it is as easy. The "spread across three days" really seems to alleviate the whole wild and crazy release day fanaticism you see at other breweries special releases. they couldn't support it from a parking perspective

Did you go to the Wild Peach release? People will park all the way down the already skinny driveway if they have to, and that's exactly what happened at that release. What they can "handle" is irrelevant in the face of the beer-crazed masses (of which I am a part of).

What does usually alleviate the insanity is handing out tickets letting those who are too late know they can leave before the release begins.

So lets agree to make the abbreviation something different than v14 to avoid confusion with Veritas 014.

I hope the BB Kriek is not over GTOM weekend. Looking like that might be the case though.

Even with the same base, it wouldn't be recognizable. For one, three years of blending would make it taste like something completely different. Who knows what. Keep in mind many breweries don't even brew their own base beer. It's all about the blending. Two, Cranbic has been pasteurized and fruited. All those residual sugars from the fruit linger due to pasteurization, which gives it the wine cooler vibe. The removal of the fruit and the addition of the microflora will make all the difference in flavor, complexity, and mouthfeel. This should be its own beast--hopefully it's a good one.

Mighty pumped for this one. Got a feeling it's going to be very, very well crafted.

Burnhearts tweeted out they just stocked some bottles of wild bitter???

Looks like they may be sending some out to distribution.

As for the geuze, I'll be there at least Thursday and Friday, and if the wife is willing Saturday as well.

hopefully the release will not be too much of a pain, it was really quite easy for Wild Bitter. I could manage to work from home Thursday and take the 20 minute drive to the brewery mid morning.

I have not attended any of the ng r&d releases, but would like to try and make it out there to get a bottle of the sour blonde. Might be a little difficult as we have a newborn and I'll probably need to get some clearance from the gf to disappear for a day to grab some beer.

Question being, Do the released bottles usually make it through all three days, or is it all supply and demand? Does ng put a limit on # of bottles to sell each day to stretch out all 3 days, and once they hit that number they are done selling for each day?

Just looking for general info, skimmed the thread. Apologies if I missed me answer in an earlier page
