How about it's just the same beer because...beer doesn't have masculine and feminine qualities? And it's really silly to say that one beer is a girl beer and one beer is a guy beer. That's probably part of the reason such a small percentage of this site is females.

Could not have said it better myself. Maybe it's the high ABV beers killin' brain cells, but whatever it is, when it comes to sexist/sexism on this site, some of y'all say some pretty brainless things.

Pick out your favorite beer and buy two bottles. Wrap one in pink paper. Wrap one in blue paper. Next.

I agree with @Mitchell57 there is nothing inherently masculine or feminine about a beer's flavor. Don't perpetuate these baseless stereotypes. However, a prominently blue vs pink bottle or label would do the trick just as well. Like one of Rogue's Voodoo doughnut beers:

    Or Sweetwater Blue:

There are also lots of blue macro beer options... Blue moon, blue Bud light bottles, Pabst Blue Ribbon, Labatt's Blue, Wild Blue...

Just for laughs I would get a bottle of Caldera Vas Deferens Ale too... you're welcome

IF sours are ok. Allagash Nancy could work or Victory Cherry Gose. Both of these beers pour a nice red and I just got with and DIPA or Stout for the boy.

Babies really can't drink that much, so just make sure it is low ABV...

One thing to remember is that it is a reveal. So keeping it a secret before the reveal is important so either wrapped bottles that are obvious or plain bottle with a definite color when poured.

Screw the gender thing - get the finest beer you can find, a fifth of bourbon and a handful of cuban cigars, find a designated driver and then hide out with your friend until the booze and cigars are all gone.

you don't have to be a homebrewer to own a capper :-) sounds like the OP is motivated enough to spend a few bucks on a capper and some crown caps. but finding a homebrewer might be faster, should be cheaper. commercial beers can be recapped as long at it's not a twist-off.

i would suggest going with a hefe or a witbier. the yeast in suspension should make the color pop (yeast is white, so it reflects light back). do a test run in advance.

Well... I guess this was the perfect thread to bring up sexism in craft beer. Really just trying to do something fun for my brother in law not start a political debate but good job being one of those people that will always find a way to throw their opinion in when it's not solicited. Sure makes you sound like the smart, voice of reason, in the forum.

Thanks to all the serious answers however.
