Pretty sure this place serves HT for weddings. Looking forward to a friends wedding there this summer just because of it! Can anyone confirm they do and if there's anyway of leaving with an unopened can or two?

I'm sure they serve whatever their customers are willing to buy and they can source. My two cents, it is not really very cool to walk out of a party taking product with you.

Wouldn't it be easier to just go to a store in the area that has Heady as opposed to trying to sneak out with a few cans? It's not that hard to find...

Well It's not like I'm not paying for them or taking furnishings home geez. lol Since we are not arriving until Friday night I,m guessing there won't be much on the shelves at surrounding retail locations and was hoping to bring a couple home has gifts.

So where would be the best spot to find it Saturday morning? Guessing places with cases will be out by then since it seems like everything i delivered on Tuesday around there.

I know nothing about the local liquor laws there, but I'd be concerned about causing an issue for the venue's license if product is served by a bartender and then taken away. If the couple is supplying the HT, tell them you'll given them a better wedding present if they snag an extra 4 pack for you!

Do not take anything home with you, that's a def no no and the venue can get pegged for that. Not to mention venues SHOULD and almost always open the can for you upon purchase for this specific reason. If a cop were to ever see you leaving with an open container of any sorts...enjoy the weekend in Jail. They love tourists

Aside from that it was refreshing to see a Heady Post different from most others. Hopefully they sell it there for you.

Heady is not made of stardust, it's really not that hard to find in the area unless you NEED an entire case.

There are so many threads on this subject, use the search function and don't lift cans of beer from a wedding, FFS.

I have used the search function and I have made trips to buy it before. This was more of a question if the Inn sold it there not for consumption there. Was not sneaking anything out and would ask the bartender there if it was allowed. Was just looking to see if I could get a couple cans from the wedding instead of dragging my wife around on a beer hunt. Thanks for all the input. Still looking for someone's comments who has been there.

say you can buy it at the wedding unopened, you're still going to pay like $9/can. just look at headyspotter.com and figure out where the closest retail location is that gets a delivery later in the week. it should not be an issue for you.

If you're concerned about it selling out, maybe set up an IP trade for Tree House or whatever is local to you?

Because you know it's an open bar? Are you going to the wedding?

I don't know why this turned into I'm a D bag thread but I had no intentions of taking cans against and rules or laws. Just wanted a simple question answered from someone who had been to the place.

A IP trade is a great idea. Thanks.

Like I said, it depends on what the customers are willing to pay for and what the venue can source. It isn't like wedding packages A thru Z include Heady Topper. Weddings and events are usually a la carte - you pay for whatever upgrades you would like. Some people go for big beers, some for big whiskeys, some for big wines. It really doesn't matter if someone has been to a wedding there before and had it or not, because it all depends on what the customer is asking them to provide. If someone chimes in that they have had it, then all that means is that one point someone was willing to pay for it, and they were able to source it. Miles away from 'The Round Barn serves Heady Topper at weddings'.

What, you guys never heard of a road soda? Throw an extra 20 bucks onto your gift and call it even.

The Round Barn does not sell for off premise consumption, there are different licences in VT.
Don't ask your bartender anywhere here to sell you beer to go, your asking them to risk loosing their licence and their supply of Heady.

Fair point. I retract my snarky response. The way you wrote that the "venue serves" I kind of interpreted it as an open bar scenario. Like it's a standard beer option, along with their standard venue white or red wine.

I don't think you're a d-bag; I don't even know you. Just making the point that if it is an open bar, it would be pretty sleazy to take beer that the bride and groom are paying for.
