To mark our first 90° day in the city, what are some of your favorite locally available beers for the summer?

    Some of mine are:

    Big Wood - Amigo Grande
    Clown Shoes - Clementine
    Boulevard - Unfiltered Wheat
    Off Color - Apex Predator

Schell's Star of the north series and Evil Twin's Nomaderweiss are favorites.

I look forward to Odell St. Lupulin every year.

Not the best lawnmowing beer, but I thoroughly enjoy it.

Nomaderweisse is effing awesome. I've never tried the Hefeweizen. Almost pulled the trigger on it at the store last week.

Beer snob alert! Seriously though. I can't even look at beers this dark during the summer. Maybe if I had a walk in cooler. Do you have a walk in cooler?

I still can't get over Odell Tree shaker.

Bent Paddle Blonde is a good new addition this year

lol... It was a joke, but I do actually still like to drink dark beers in the summer on and off. Truthfully a good berliner Weisse or pale ale (like st lupilin mentioned above) is good too.

Indeed Shenanigans, Schells Hefe and Bent Paddle Blonde would probably be top three for me on a day like this.

Bent Paddle Blonde, eh? I've only had their Cold Press and Golden IPA, both being really solid. I might have to try that one.

I hate to say it, since I don't like much that MKE offers, but their Increase Wheat Berlinerweisse is pretty tasty, IMO. It's a good beer style for this time of year. Gose style beers do the trick too.

    From the "Big Three S's":
    Surly Bitter Brewer
Schell's Zommerfest (I'm bummed.... but, this one seems to have gone away... guess I'll give Hefeweizen a try)
Summit Summer Ale (pretty good example of a Kölsch, American style)

Special mention (although not a seasonal): Summit Hopvale

Blondes can be refreshing, but the ones I've tried just seemed a bit too bland.

Schell's Hefe and New Glarus Spotted Cow. I know you can't get NG in MN, but Hudson is basically a St Paul exburb and I get there often.

Summit Pils is right up there too.

The Bent Paddle Blonde uses a Belgian yeast to make it stand out from the typical blonde ale.

The aforementioned Surly Bitter Brewer...though it was supplanted almost entirely last summer by Indeed Day Tripper. Very good beer.
