Not sure if it's been mentioned, but it seems Long Beach got shafted on Oneida cans. One store I went to said their Stone rep was out sick, and his replacement wasn't very on the ball. Another shop I went to said they placed an order four times and never received it. The beer guy at said second place said he was getting a new rep next week, so we'll see I guess :slight_frown:

Yeah, Long Beach is in transition with Stone reps, so I'd imagine it's that odd in the middle time. But let me tell you, the new stone rep for that area.. He's an awesome dude.

I just have to say, courtesy of @ModernTimesJacob's forthright and illuminating replies to pretty much every question that comes his way, this is by far my favorite long-running BA thread.

5PM Saturday purchased! The only problem, I don't see Modem Tones on tap  But Dial Up (American Stout w/ vanilla beans & Secret Beach Summer Blend coffee), The Dancing Plague w/ Peaches & Blanc on Blanc on Blanc (Hallertau Blanc & Nelson Sauvin Dry-Hopped Sauvignon Blanc IPA). Yup, I'm in! Wish Port MP would be available during that session too.

Totally bummed about the lack of Flavordome. Looks like I'll be Ubering back; not the worst thing in the world, but not as fun or cheap as a stumble home.

I'll probably be at Session 4, since that fits most easily with my work schedule

God damn, My only regret is that if I do all 4 seasons, I'd probably die from a failed liver.

    So guess Saturday ALL DAY!

Maybe, maybe not - could be the bad rum barrels Jacob mentioned. Either way, they're not trying to profit off of it by bottling it up and passing it off as a brilliant idea, but also giving people a chance to try it if they want to be adventurous.

I understand that, and if the accident is decent, might be worth tapping instead of scrapping all that beer.

Yup, and it's goddamn delicious. We wouldn't pour it if it wasn't. This beer actually traces its origin to the very first barrel-aged Monsters' Park (some of you may remember that we scrapped the first release of Bourbon Barrel-Aged Monsters' Park because the barrels didn't pass QC; these are those barrels). The barrels showed signs of a Brett infection, so rather than packaging them, we decided to let them age and see if anything interesting developed. About a year after filling, they were good but not extraordinary; one barrel was acetic and not servable. So in February of 2015, we dosed the 3 good barrels with 3 additional Brett strains and Lacto. We tasted them a few weeks ago, and they were fantastic. By the time of the anniversary party, the beer will have been in barrels for 18 months, a long time for any barrel aged beer, and the flavors have melded beautifully. The beer is quite funky and a touch tart, with big oak and bourbon notes meshing very nicely with the sweet, roasty, marshmallow body of Monsters' Park (it's not overly dry, which is one of my common complaints about funky/sour stouts). Looking forward to hearing all of your thoughts on it next month!

    Cheers & thanks,

@ModernTimesJacob Appreciate the transparency. On another note, you guys definitely need to consider making Mega Black House year around. Don't really care for regular Black House, but Mega definitely is a keeper. Consider making Mega Black House with Coconut and Vanilla added?? Cheers.

I could absolutely be losing my mind, but I could have sworn I remembered seeing Funky Monsters' Park originally listed in session one? Either way, I'm stoked!

Finally cracked open my Bourbon MP Coffee for the GoT Finale and it was freakin delicious. No fecal quality (?) at all here. Just bourbony stouty coffee goodness. BCBCS is prob my favorite beer and this was right up there with it. Similar flavors but less boozy and a touch less body. Well done MT. Looking forward to picking up my Rum variants soon.

Yeah, I'd love to secure a bottle each but given the limited availability & craft beer trendy / hipster factor ... don't really want to wait in an overnight line to be among the first 40 #iheartBPT
