I use Untappd for checking in because several friends use it, plus I don't really feel qualified to write the extremely in-depth reviews that so many people post on here... a sentence or two about the appearance and general flavors I pick up is about the best I can muster. Though I'm incredibly grateful to those that do write long reviews since I enjoy reading them when considering higher-end beer purchases.

Also, even though I haven't used it much, the trade system is pretty great - no more random guessing about who might or might not be planning on screwing me over.

 

Because beer.

It is a good source of beer info.......events I may not have heard about, and a new release I didn't know about.

 

looking up beers while at the store/on the hunt, and reviewing to help others out with the same.

 

I use the site to find out what style my beer is, to rate a beer, and to go back and read my written reviews to see either how my taste buds's have changed or simply what I thought about the beer.

Learn more about beer, at my own pace. Get other peoples views on all things beer.

Everything here is great, but having moved from KCMO to Chicago, and not really knowing anyone here, the Great Lakes subforum has been invaluable to me for local releases and a bit of insight into local beer culture.

 

I have used the reviews since I got into beer. It's so nice being able to communicate and discuss beer with others. I mainly joined to try trading though.

 

Used to trade, got tired of that.

Now just to peruse forums at work.

 

Beer info drips from the site, and the camaraderie and humor are excellent.

 

All my friends are right there in one place on WBAYDN

 

...it's cheaper than meth and I learn about new beers (even ones I can't get locally). There.

experiences written here on different beers to compare to mine.
