Good morning, BAs! I've got a delayed work schedule today to allow me to finish up the moving process. The new house will take a long time to get in order, but at least I'm done with the old!

Starting out this morning with a little stealthy stout. No one else is awake yet, but you know...just in case.

    Cheers!

A nice light lunch in Brussels. Pretty sure that tub of cheese isn't meant to be consumed in one sitting but I took to the challenge. Cheers!

I have to drink to watch my wife use my power tools too. In the end, I always step in and take over because I cant stand watching. Of course I am intoxicated by then, so it is a viscous cycle

Stopped at a place in Williams, AZ ( South Rim Wine & Beer Garage ) they had one 5 across. My kids loved paying it, but I almost felt like I needed to give them steeltoe boots & a hardhat, luckily they're quick...

Popped open a Russian River Blind Pig IPA last night. Nice, smooth crisp IPA.

Day off and missed game of thrones last night. Season finale only seemed appropriate.

Sharpshooter Wheat Session IPA by Great Lakes Brewing Company

Struggling to find a sixth beer at the beer store to complete my six pack, I went with this one, despite the fact I'm almost always disappointed in session IPAs. Best by 11/09 and poured 6/15.

Appearance: Slight hop haze on this golden yellow colored beer -- seems more "lively" than most session IPAs I've had in the past. There's a tiny head that sticks around awhile, with pretty nice lacing. Good looking beer.

Smell: Due to the added orange peel, this smells a bit like a Witbier, but still pretty distinctly like an IPA due to the hops, which are grassy and herbal primarily. There's also a tinge of malt in the aroma, which I find unusual given the style (since it seems session IPAs tend to forgo any sort of malt character), but MORE than welcome.

Taste/feel: Wow, a session IPA that has body AND flavor... very strange, but man is it nice. I guess that extra nearly % in alcohol on this beer helps with that. A little citrus, a bit of grassiness with a slight pine flavor, some wheat, and a little malt -- this is what a session IPA ought to taste like. I'm loving the fact that this doesn't have a watery body and that it actually has a malt presence.

One of my new favorite sub-5% beers. Considering the specific style and its ABV, this is basically a homerun by GLBC.

    3.77.5 (+4.1% rDev)
