I actually got very little booziness from this, I thought it was super sweet.
The extra maple syrup overpowered any booziness for me & it was almost too sweet to enjoy

That's about exactly right - was in line I think at 9:50 or so and was first loser for the 3 pairs. Big props to the guy two in front of me and my buddy who we talked to the entire time for throwing us two of his bottles.

Since 6 Legs came out of bourbon barrels that had held Dark Horse maple syrup first, there should not have been much extra alcohol in the barrel to make a difference. The 3 Legs may have had some barrel alcohol added since it came directly from a bourbon barrel, but that would depend on whether it was Dark Horse's first or second use of that barrel. I think typically a brewery using a bourbon barrel for the first time can add 1-3 percent ABV points to a beer, but variables regarding the barrel's 'wetness' from the distillery as well as the time in the barrel for the brewery's beer will dictate that increased ABV amount.

i just haven't seen a BBA beer come from them yet that has boosted the ABV, which from other breweries I almost always see a bump if they offer both versions. Just made me think a bit.

Was the weather that bad for Rev Peyton to cancel their show? I heard there was tornado warnings.

There was a tornado warning issued in late afternoon (I had already left the party), but I think the brunt of the storm stayed north of Marshall. There was a ton of rain and lightning with the storm along with strong winds, but no tornado was ever reported. I don't know how much of this weather went thru Marshall, but there was definite justification to shut things down at the brewery just based on the warning threat.

They closed off outside sales until the warning ended, then continued on with those who remained. The other bands all set up inside the warehouse near the back and played on but for whatever reason Rev Peyton did not play.

So which one of you assholes had Tupperware containers?

We wanted to Thank Everyone that came out to the Crawfish Boil this year. We apoligize for the weather and food line and how long it took. We have never in 15 years had people use boxes, Tupperware containers, or large aluminum trays, which is why the line took so long. Next year all participants will get a commemorative serving plate either at the door or at the food "lines" that they can fill up once and come back as many times as they want. We will also station attendants at the tables to keep people moving and making sure people are only filling their plate once while at a food table. There will also be satellite food tables in different areas to keep lines from getting too long. We cooked more Crawfish and in a shorter time than ever, but just could not keep up with the portion sizes being taken. Which We also understand that the people that had to stand in line a long time wanted "their share" but it was a snowball effect that we just couldn't keep up with.
We will do our best to fix the situation and want all to know our goal is to make everyone's time at Dark Horse a good one and we work real hard to do so. The last thing we want is long lines and people waiting and we work hard at all our events to try and minimize them. Thanks again for all your support over the years - Aaron, Kristine and Cally Morse.

I know how to find these people.
1.Go to the nearest Chinese food buffet that serves crab legs
    2. Look for the fattest slobs there who will no doubt have a 3 foot mound of crab legs on their plates with a 5 foot mound of cashed legs stacked at the end of their table.
    3. Find Tupperware filled with more crab legs and crawfish residu hidden under their gut flaps.
    4. Red flag them for the crawfish boil next year.

So what's the deal? You show up with your own plate or whatever and they fill it for you?

I would definitely go to poundtown on an all you can eat crawfish boil, but it would never cross my mind to bring something that would allow me to take some to go.

We arrived early for the bottle release and were close to the front of the line. Debated on going to the Crawfish Boil later. Ultimately decided to skip the boil and took a second road trip up to Bellaire to Short's for the Island Chomper release. Glad that we did. One of our friends was texting us from the boil about how long the food line was. Just as always, a handful of folks messed it up for many, but kudos to Dark Horse for addressing the issue for next year's event. It would be great if they'd address the line jumping problems at the 4Elf camp out before that situation gets out of hand.
