Last night I had Lagunitas Hop Stoopid for the first time. I got a bomber of it, and with reviewing on BA, or looking up info on it, I tried it and it tasted exactly how I expected it. I thought that was kind of cool, and it went down super smooth since my taste buds seemed to expect the flavor that was coming. I understand that Lagunitas IPA's are pretty straight forward, and IPA's in general are probably less dynamic than other styles, but I felt like I knew down to each note that the beer gave off, that I was expecting that taste!

Anybody else had times like that? Thought I'd ask for fun!

A recent example for me would be Southern Tier Choklat Oranj. Plenty of chocolate, some orange peel on the back-end. A tad sweet but nothing like, for example, their Creme Brulee. It was completely as expected. A solid, chocolate-orange stout.

I will say Prairie Bomb only because my expectations were sky high and the beer lived up to the hype. At this point it's far and away the best beer I have ever had.

Bourbon County Barleywine met my expectations and then some.

DBH - a perfect example of a beer tasting exactly like it's described and delivering in every aspect.
BCBCS fresh in 2013 - Had very high expectations since it was no. 2 on the top 250 list at the time. Probably the best beer I've ever had. 2014 didn't meet my expectations that 2013 set for me though.

Several others met the hype or exceeded the hype but these two beers were exactly what I was expecting.

FBS, Victory at Sea, Sculpin and Grapefruit Sculpin met high expectations, while Aecht Schlenkerla totally blew me away.

Other Half Brewing All Green Everything. I had read about it and very much desired it but they are well outside my distro. Lo and behold, I received it in a BIF. It was everything I had hoped it would be and then some.

I also had an opportunity to enjoy Heady Topper last year, and it was also balls on for what I expected. Locally, On the Wings of Armageddon lived up to it's hype.

FW's Parabola and Founders Breakfast Stout are the first two to come to mind.

Tree House Good Morning. Breakfast in a glass. Maple, chocolate, coffee, vanilla. A highlight of the past year for me.

Second on Good Morning from Tree House. One of the smoothest beers I've ever had.

The latest beers I tried that were everything I had hoped for were "Sour in the Rye" from The Bruery and Small Town Brewery's "Not Your Father's Root Beer." Hard to imagine two beers more dissimilar but they both completely met my expectations.

Sip of Sunshine. Usually I after I find a beer that I hear a lot about it is a let down. I was surprised and happy to find SOS on tap one day and was blown away. And 2IPAs are far from my favorite style.

The Abyss. So far, it's been one of the very few beers I've had that is both hyped, and did not have a note of disappointment in the taste as a result of said hype.

Crasher in the Rye was a delectable mix! Somehow, the oatmeal body and rye/whiskey finish combined in exactly the way I was hoping. Breakfast Exorcism yesterday was just as satisfying as well.

The only beer that has ever met my expectations was a 2013 BCBS, and I think it actually surpassed them.
First glass, from a just tapped keg, with almost a year on it.
I have had other beers I thought where great, but never had expectations like I did for BCBS.

Another vote for Good Morning. Also KBBS and all other TG stouts I've had.

Honorable Mention: BVDL, VSB, LPK, and Keene Idea.
