1000th beer rating tonight, need help.

    Hi guys, tonight I will attempt my 1000th beer rating tonight but I want to know if the beer I picked was a good one. I got Cockeyed Cooper - Uinta Brewing Company. Good pick?

    I just ticked my 1000th the other day, and here were what I perceived to be my options:

    1) Drink something really special. Well, I didn't have anything really special. I don't drink Whalezbro.

    2) Drink something really crappy. Rolling Rock came to mind for some reason.

    3) Just drink anything. There's no real significance to 1000 vice 999 or 1001. It's a human pattern-seeking thing.

    I ended up going with something outside of my state's distro (Alesmith), with both a style (Wheat Wine) and a name (Decadence) that seemed appropriate to the occasion.

    ...

    So, if I have any words of wisdom to bestow, it's this: you can't go wrong. Whatever you choose is the correct choice. Something special, rare, unique? Awesome. Just another run of the mill brew? Nothing wrong with that, either.

    Basically, I'd say that if you've gotten up around that number, then any beer you choose would be appropriate provided you have a reason for picking it. Feel like reviewing a world class beer? If you have one, go for it. Feel like reviewing Corona Light? Then do that one, it would be good for a laugh later on. Just make sure there's a personal meaning behind it for you, don't just blindly reach into a mixed 6-pack and grab one at random.

    Not sure about him, but I have a long long list of detailed tasting notes for beers that I haven't rated or reviewed yet. I fell behind when you had to review and only recently came back when I saw that ratings only was now allowed. I have something like 800+ beers that I have left to rate. Personally, I don't like to rate more than 5 or 6 at a time while I am catching up. I've got a very good taste memory, and remembering more than that many in one sitting gives me a bit of a headache. I just wish the buzz would come along with it.

    I'm sorry, I don't care how many beers you have reviewed. You gave Corona Extra the same rating (4) as you did Uinta Hop Nosh, Allagash Curieux, and Dogfish Head 90 Min IPA. You gave Budweiser the same rating (3.75) as Founder's Backwoods Bastard & Green Flash West Coast IPA. Don't understand your rating scale.

    Not yet. I'm at 988. Working my way to 1000. 12 beers in a night is normal for a friend and me.
