Heading to Cape Cod (Eastham) in July and was hoping to hear any recommendations for package stores or bars with a quality craft beer selection. Thanks.

There's not much, to be honest.

Windmill Liquors in Orleans (next town over) has a pretty decent selection. Nothing mindblowing but not bad.

Also in Orleans is Friend's Market, which has some decent stuff.

As far as bars go, good luck. Land Ho Harwichport probably has the best draft selection but it's about 25 minutes from Eastham.

Local Break in Eastham might have a decent rotating tap on.

Rock Harbor Grill, Orleans Public House, and The Jailhouse (all in Orleans) might have some good beers.

Aside from that, the lower cape bars mostly just serve bud light and the like.

There's a new brewery in Dennis called Devil's Purse that's worry checking out for some crowlers.

My brother in law has been to Devil's Purse and said they are pretty good.

Red Nun in Dennisport (even further than Harwichport) has a pretty good draft selection.

Devil's purse is putting out some good product. I had all 5 of their initial beers and found them true to style and of good quality. The kolsch and IPAs were very good. The Pale and ESB were very drinkable.

You could also head up to Provincetown for Nor'east Beer Garden and a few other more beer-centric bars

I was out that way over the weekend and noticed a new(ish) spot right by the Orleans rotary called The Knack. Looking online it looks like a promising burger and clam shack and stocks craft beer in cans - FB page shows a lineup of Cape Cod Beer tallboys. I want to check it out, but no drafts, so not likely to have anything great.

Second the rec for Devil's Purse, but you can find their beers on draft all over the place, too, including Land Ho Orleans (not sure if the taps are so much better in Harwichport - they have seemed pretty similar to me in past). There is also a Red Nun outpost in Chatham, haven't been there in a few years but they are listed as a Devil's Purse outlet. That is a case where the draft selection at their newer Dennisport location seems superior to anything I remember from Chatham, but maybe Chatham has upped its game?

Maybe you best bet from Eastham is to BYOB to Mac's on the Pier in Wellfleet for some oysters, clams, fish tacos and a sunset at the picnic tables on the beach. Go on a weekday or be ready for long lines, though.

Cranberry Liquors in Harwich has a solid selection. Last time I was down there I found Ruin 2.0 that was only a few weeks out.

This place is just awesome in general, should definitely check it out.

Visited Devil's Purse this past weekend. Very nice place and they are putting out some good beers. The kolsch was awesome and thier IPAs were very nice. The ESB and the pale were meh, but that could just be me. Moonshine Liquors was the only beer store I stopped at and thier selection was very good. Pick up a few Tilqin OG squared amonst other things.

Moonshine is great. Worth making a slight detour to on the way through to eastham.

Cape Cod Beer in Hyannis is a nice brewery, and Moonshine Liquors in Hyannis is a great bottle shop.

On the way off or on the Cape, Flynn's in Bourne, practically under the Sagamore Bridge on the Cape side. Something like 42 taps, excellent selection.

Stop in Plymouth, see the Mayflower, the disapponting Rock, if you have the inclination, Plimoth Plantation-worth the time. Most importantly, downtown is home to The New World Tavern. Seriously, best craft selection south of Boston, (and really good food).Only place south with a couple of flavors of Night Shift!

Not familiar with the Lower Cape (except for the beaches), but if you go toward Hyannis you'll find some stuff.

Top pick for brewery would be Devil's Purse, with Cape Cod Beer as a fallback.
Top pick for a shop would be Moonshine Liquors, with Cranberry Liquors as a fallback.

Also, best craft selection I've found is at Moonshine Liquors in Hyannis, near the airport rotary. You'll have a blast poking around.

I really like Cape Cod brewery in Hyannis. Not overly familiar with package stores on Cape, but Cedarville Wine and Spirits, exit 2 off route 3 in Plymouth has an excellent selection.

I'm from the Cape originally, but that's definitely not "my part" of the Cape either. I'd echo the Moonshine suggestions, they really have a nice shop there. The Nor'East Beer Garden in P-Town is supposed to be radical, but I've never been. I'll be visiting the Cape this weekend, super stoked to check out some Devil's Purse beers!

Love the Plymouth suggestions for a guy staying in Eastham.

While you're in the area, check out this fantastic brewery by the name of Cantillon.

Luke's liquors on 6A in Brewster is pretty solid for a package store. Depending on how far north in Eastham you are it may or may not be too far. Bars tend to have Cape Cod Blonde and other lighter, beach friendly brews.

To be fair, you do have to pass through Plymouth to get to Eastham. And it's not like options are aplenty. The Cape is good five years behind the rest of the state when it comes to craft beer.
