Just wait until Schell's comes out with the bourbon vanilla variant.

    Exactly.

All jokes aside, I think this will sell out relatively quickly, as in, don't think it will be available in a month. I bought 8 last night, and opened one last night. I'm going to go buy at least 8 more I think. I'm done trading for fruited sours for a while. Shipping and rarity make it not worth it when I can go pick up this guy for $16. This beer is absolutely phenomenal.

I had this at RBF and loved it, had my first bottle of it last night and confirmed my feelings on it, absolutely a fantastic beer. If this had a de Garde label on it, people would be going after it like crazy.

I've spent more than that on shipping over the last three months in beer trades. You're right, I am crazy. It's either an addiction or a disease, and I'm either addicted or afflicted. You and my SO would get along well. She thinks I'm crazy (though she also LOVES this beer).

Absolutely, 100% agree on the second sentence. We're very lucky this is made by Schell's.

Talked to the beer guy at my local store. He said the distributor let some places buy as much as they wanted, and those orders went out earlier this week. That's why there were no limits at many places the last couple days. The distributor seemed to not have realized that this one was much more limited than past releases in the series(after all, the distributor still has cases of Dawn of Aurora sitting around). Those big orders early on are going to lead to everyone else getting less. My buddy thought he would only get a case, maybe two. He also thought that's how it would be everywhere going forward except the really big stores (Zipp's, Surdyk's, etc.). He also made sure to tell me that he was speculating about all of this, and it could all be misinformation. Take it FWIW. Don't shoot the messenger.

@12tb are you in Iowa? If so, where has this been distributed down here?!

Ah, makes sense. Big Grove in bottles across the MW would be nice wouldn't it?!

Most definitely. But BGB is an Iowa brewery. It will stay in Iowa. That has been the plan from the start. Bill (head brewer) is committed to the state. If bottles ever come, they won't cross state lines (well, unless other people do that).

That said, BGB beer should be more readily available in Iowa in the not too distant future. On behalf of everyone at BGB, let me say thank you very, very kindly for your support. We were overwhelmed from the start at the reception we received from the community. I don't work there anymore, but Bill and co are good, good friends, and we've always been very grateful to everyone who tries the beer.

And stay tuned for the new wine barrel aged sours. Looking like Bill's best work so far. Maybe I can convince him yet that it will be worth the effort to bottle them by hand!
