Excellent! If somebody can round up our friendly neighborhood lurker, it could be a party!

We'll discuss details later in the week.

OK, so some awesome pRon will be coming up shortly. I just spent the past hour or two packing a box containing some beers to share and some others that will go to two other locals (one of whom is expecting them, the other of whom will hopefully be surprised sometime in the next week or two), then unpacking my AA box (holy crap) and researching the contents, and then checking BA and finding out that my last 6 alerts were all "likes" from @whyteboy003 , seeing what he liked, and impressing myself with my sense of humor from some old posts.

Anyway, here is a #whycan'twebefriendsVBS -- and stay tuned for an amazing pRon post.

#VBS this one is a '13 I got from @Yohann in stout BIF 4. I've had a fresher one from @treznor lately as well. I would say the extra year really mellows out the honey in a good way.

@PG2G Which BART is better? Base, Vanilla, or Coffee? The two variants are freaking ghosts on BA... Vanilla isn't even listed!

Hmmm. I really enjoyed vanilla but ny friend wasn't a huge fan, I could see some people thinking it has an artificial taste though. Coffee is very good, pretty strong coffee and I get some good chocolate notes. The base beer is a bit more bitter than I prefer.

Coffee was member only, Vanilla was (seemingly) limited distro, base seems more widely available. I can order 2 more of each online if ur interested, unless it sold out in the last few days.

Nah, Don't worry bud. I'm just curious. Sound like some excellent beers, but my wife is not happy about my recent habits of spending $300-400 at Casey every month... this would definitely not help that

FYI for those of you who had the Real Ale Gose last year: I bought a sixer of it and thought it was much better than last year and today got to talk with their brewmaster about it. He really dialed back the lime in it by using a different process. He said he didn't listen to the critics, rather didn't like it last year and wanted to adjust (which is what the critics said). So for those who wrote is off last year, reconsider it because it's a different beer, in a good way.

WARNING -- LONG pRon POST --

So my AA box from @rspauldi arrived today. My fedex notification said it was 18 pounds and about the same size as the one I shipped yesterday (which weighed 30 lbs), I figured it was either in a shipper or had lots of padding. Then I got home and lifted the box, and figured out it was actually because Texans can't do numbers (I didn't bother weighing it, cuz I was able to sneak it downstairs, but I'm guessing it was 35 pounds). I think Russ accidentally sent me TWO AA boxes, because there were two small boxes inside the main one, and a total of right about 300 ounces.

Moving right along... first the big guys...

1 - New English Zumbar-- never heard of it, but it's a chocolate coffee imperial stout, so I'm sure I'll love it
2 - Freetail Hypothesis H -- it took me a while to figure out which hypothesis this was, but I think I figured it out -- I'm running low on IPA's, so this will go pretty soon
3 - Modern Times Black House w/Coconut & Cacao Nibs-- to do this one justice, I will quote the BA description -- "Probably our single most requested beer in the tasting room. The chocolate & coffee of Black House makes an awesome base for intemperate quantities of coconut & cocoa nibs, which make the whole thing taste like a ridiculously decadent chocolate bar, but drier and more like beer."
4 - See that unlabelled growler? -- that's 2014 BCBCS - guess what I'm doing on Father's Day? (seeing one kid the day before, seeing one kid next week, spending Sunday with just my wife and mother-in-law). I THINK this is "only" 32 ounces, so I should be OK.
5 - Karbach Bourbon Barrel Hell Fighter Imperial Porter -- this one's a delicious sounding highly rated beer that was a want
6 - Freetail Local Coffee Stout- I typically love coffee beers, I'm sure this will be no exception. And it's got "LOCAL" in it's name!!!
7 - Freetail La Muerta- I have a funny feeling I'm gonna end up liking this brewery
8 - Smog City Coffee Porter- you know how I keep saying I like coffee...???

So yeah, these guys were a nice AA round haul, all styles I'll like, everything sounds delicious, about 180 oz...

But wait... there are also the little guys (some smaller bottles to go along with the nice cans)...

1 - Hops and Grain The One They Call Zoe-- this one's a little different -- it's a Pale Lager -- my basic frame of reference here is Jack's Abby, so I'm optimistic about this one
2 - Four Corners Block Party Robust Porter -- finally a plain old shelf beer (I think) that I don't have to write anything creative about!
3- Sante Fe Imperial Java Stout- yeah "Java" means coffee. This one took me a while to identify, because the can says "before noon" and I thought that was the name. Then I realized the other side of the can says "after noon"
4 - Karbach Hop Delusion x2 -- an imperial IPA from a Texas brewery I already knew about -- I get one checkin per can, right?
5 - Jester King Nocturn Chrysalis - HUGE want, and extremely cool bottle. I didn't realize what this was during the unwrapping ceremony, and was very excited when I actually read the label
6 - Modern Times Black House-- I like Oatmeal stouts a lot, and appreciate that this one is relatively low ABV
7 - Community Barrel Aged Legion -- I like Russian Imperial Stouts in general, I liked the non-BA verison of this, and this was a want, so I'm psyched
8 - Saint Arnold Divine Reserve #15-- I now have #14 and #15 (after just learning this week that the number is the year/vintage) -- and this one's another RIS
9 - Deep Ellum Oak Cliff Coffee Ale-- the only thing (besides BCBCS) on here that I've had before, and I loved it (there's that coffee thing again -- this is deja vu all over again)

And just to wrap things up, the swag...

A bag of Buc-ee's Beaver Nuggets -- I'm not sure what these are, but please remember to preface any inappropriate comments with the phrase "earmuffs Erika". They LOOK like sugary cheese doodles -- sugar doodles? And #pgw for my Freetail Hypothesis -- this appears to be a Speigelau IPA glass -- I already have their stout glass and tend to use it whenever I don't have #pgw from that brewery, I suspect this may become my go-to IPA glass.

And finally, the whole haul in one glorious, beautiful shot...

Holy crap, Russ -- this is ridiculous -- I'm guessing I will probably like one of these beers and love all the others. #Locals forever. Thanks so much @rspauldi !!!

Now I have to go check out the 8 alerts I got while writing this post...

8 foot or 9 foot table? I may or may not have helped finance my way through college by playing pool and managing a pool room.

    Lurks back out......

Exactly 100", which I assume means an 8 footer. But I always thought it was "regulation" (the table is older than a lot of people in this thread). The only thing I made money playing in college was backgammon, and I probably spent most of that trying to get good at pool (or being the asshole who got to 9990 points on Space Invaders and then let himself get killed on purpose so nobody else could get high score)

Another #VBS... Different "B", but it's worth sharing. Took my - getting close to 3 year old son - to his first Astros (and MLB) game today at Coors Field. Looks like I was having more fun that he was  'Stros won 8-4. 3rd best record in the MLB this season after a freaking awful last 4 seasons....

...and another soild hoppy brew from @Damian74Shensky . Cheers!

I actually liked it with how lime forward it was last year. Although if I'm forced to pick a BMC option during the summer Bud Light Lime may me my #2 option.

Stoked i found this sitting on the shelf around here.
Also i went to 2 stores the other day that had several ADWTD on the shelf. I couldnt believe it but maybe people around these parts just arent cool with dropping 35 on a beer. Especially since one of the stores posted they had it in stock well over a week ago. Its funny what sells out instantly in some states, but will sit on a shelf in others.
