It is among my most highly anticipated and enjoyed... by... pales...

There's some variations between batches, sure... really loved this release - tighter? Crisper? "Dank"

But I think it's only part "the batches" - the other part being our reality at the time of the tasting... *reality*



Far as I know, the basic recipe's remained the same for quite some time now...

Reviews:

This was really tasty stuff. Nice appearance and lacing. Aromas and flavors of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, and pine; with moderate caramel, honey, and toasted biscuit malt sweetness and herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness. Fair amount of pine/herbal/grassy bitterness on the finish; with a very smooth and crisp finish; with moderate creaminess and hop oil stickiness in the mouthfeel. A nice mix of citrusy and earthy hops with balanced malt and bitter flavors. Nice complex malt backbone without feeling too overdone. This is definitely leaning on a bit of English style influence with the flavors, but lacking English yeast. Still generally feels American styled with the bitter and sticky mouthfeel. Really enjoyed it.


Really damn nice hoppy pale lager. Good head retention and lingering lacing down the glass. Aromas and flavors of bright grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, lemon zest, wheat, cracker, light spicy rye bread, light pepper/pine, and herbal/grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate herbal/spicy bitterness on the finish; with a smooth and crisp finish with good overall balance between malt and hop flavors. Light touches of hop stickiness in the mouthfeel. A damn fine job on a pale lager for sure. Super clean with zero yeast ester presence; and very brightly hoppy in flavor without feeling hoppy in bitterness. Zero fricking complaints, totally delicious.


This is good but, interesting. American strong ales can go all over the map as usual(database is wrong yet again on style labeling, submitted a change request yet again..). Aromas and flavors of caramel, toast, biscuit, light chocolate, plum, apple, orange peel, pine, oak, light vanilla, and herbal/grassy hop earthiness. Good sized piney/woody/citrus rind bitter finish; with a with a light-moderate amount of resinous stickiness in the mouthfeel. Smooth for the ABV. Light-moderate warming finish. Overall this just feels like another angled approach to be Arrogant Bastard with a different hop and malt bill. Getting a bit of English fruitiness in there, but still aggressively bitter and sticky with moderate dark malts and balanced toasty/spicy oak notes. Enjoyable and unique.
