Instead of relying on other peoples word. Why don't out seek Scott out and form your own opinion.

That being said. I love going to there open houses. They always have some great beer pouring. I would much rather go to BHB's event surrounded by people that typically have a passion for beer.

not sure which breweries you usually hang out at but i thought that the bro to redneck ratio was just right.

Kennesaw isn't country by any means... He's just being a kid, and couldn't figure out much to say.

I've ran into more hicks living off Ponce de Leon, than I have living in anywhere else in the metro area.. other than Douglasville.

I was considering going this weekend, but decided to hit Wrecking Bar instead for their Anny.
I loved the Anny party at Burnt Hickory. The only thing I don't like about these guys is the price of their bombers. Too expensive for an everyday purchase.

Nope, I respect and like my source enough to take their judgement serious. I'll likely never go back. I'll buy a bomber every now and then.. But since that blood orange mess of an IPA I've been skeptical. To each their own. Enjoy, cheers

The last old format tour yesterday was fun as usual. And Scott is not an ahole. Just wait for July 1.

Sucks that I missed it. Cant wait to see what they have in-store for us starting in July. it will be great to see what us oversized county folk, drinking a mess of a 96 rated IPA do then.

The word is eccentric, not asshole.......

Those Burnt Hickory Guys are top notch. My wife and I had a blast at one of their open houses while visiting North Georgia.
If I lived there, I'd be at every event.

Pointing out that the owner is "an ahole" helps the conversation about the brewery in what way? "trusted industry people" might be saying the same thing about you.

I don't like the whole Confederate branding. I always skip them for other local options.

Confederate branding? Really? You won't find a confederate flag on any of their stuff. Sure, some of their beers reference historical confederate figures, but those figures were local to the area where the brewery is located. Scott is celebrating the history of Kennesaw. Hell, the name of his latest beer is March to the Sea, which references the Union marching through Atlanta to Savannah, so it's not as though his beer is pro-confederacy. And that completely ignores all the beers that are not historical but are related to bands and punk rock.

I've heard the "history" argument many times. Still those figures represent something. Nothing personal against them and I'm sure their beers are great so I'm probably missing out. t's just my own personal decision based on multiple situations I've encountered since moving here.

Well. This is a first one. No Confederate branding here at all.

Our brewery is dedicated to the history of our town, Kennesaw, the site of a huge battle in the US Civil War.

The Civil War could be one of the MOST momentous/turbulent times in our great countries history. Good, Bad and yes, even ugly, however it's still an amazing part of local lore. I'll get, "Why don't you do a Robert E. Lee or Abraham Lincoln beer?" They never set foot in Kennesaw at all. Let alone in GA during 1864.

I'd like to say we are more the "Spaghetti Western/Biker/Hard Rock/DIY/Thrill Seeking" branded brewery. So have no fear, we'd love to see EVERYONE up here.

Maybe "branding" is not the correct term so I apologize for that. A better example: some people don't like/buy some of the Against the grain beers because they have shit stained underwear in their labels, I don't buy beers that have imagery of people fighting for slavery. It may not be the branding or the purpose but it is still there.
