Go for it, I don't know about you but I love looking for lovely ladies solo. Another possible perk.

Done a few solo beercations and I'd say one of the keys is knowing how to take care of yourself. That can come just from staying close by to the places (bars and breweries) you're visiting. Or going crazy drinking or having a contingency (taking a cab or Uber). I actually love solo beercations because I can do me. If I meet people I like hanging out with, I can stay. If I don't, I'm not tethered to the place or plans by another person. I can leave.

Denver is an option too - just depends on rates and weather and when I decide to do it. All 3 places are relatively low on the airfare side of things.

I travel for work and occasionally end up extending trips into "beercations" by myself. As others have stated, you have control over the schedule and end up meeting some really interesting people. Go for it.

I'd say go for it. You can hit spots solo until your heart's content. Then, if you want some company, put up a post on the BA forums that says, "I'm female and drinking beer alone at (insert spot), anyone want to join me?" You'll have 40,000 dudes respond within three minutes.

Just make sure to only post this on BA and not Craigslist.

We are in OC and I'm sure my girlfriend would be down if you ever wanted to take a girls's trip.

Business trips are my chance to visit breweries when I would normally be spending time with family. Not a real substitute but a nice break from work.

It all depends if you're the kind of a person who likes being alone for long periods of time. I tend to be a loner by nature. I enjoy my solitude. With that said, I took a solo trip last July to Vermont and Boston. Got to meet some awesome people, and am still talking to a friend to this day that I met in line at Hill Farmstead! We actually met again for a few beers while staying in Boston this March. It was nice to explore places by myself. Yes, it did get lonely at times, and did wish I had some buddies to share my experiences with, but overall, I'd say the trip was definitely worth it. Now, would I do it again by myself? Probably not. It was a good time doing things on my own, but personally, I think I enjoy the company of others when discovering new bars, restaurants, and sites. I hope this helps and enjoy your beer-cation!

I've done a number of short brewery trips alone. My favorite was probably, Dark Horse for a quick Porter, Bell's for a Hopslam and soup and a walk around the grounds and Founders for the duration of the evening.

The only real drawback I can think of is not having a DD. But since anybody I take with would want to drink as much as me, rolling alone means the cab, train or walking plan is already in place when I set out for the evening.

And it seems that when you are alone it is easier to get into conversations with the local.

Come to Portland. You can do a lot on foot / public transit - so you don't have to worry about a possible DUI.

I hit the breweries and tap rooms in town all the time solo. Quite frequently, people will start up conversations.

I guess it would just depend on your personality. If you are content to be alone or one of those types of people who make friends quickly no matter where you are then why not!

As long as you're somewhat social you can have a lot of great conversations with bartenders/workers or other craft beer fans in the vicinity. I did this in Chicago when I went with my dad on a business trip, actually made some friends and had some great conversations. So I'd definely say go for it

I thought Solo Beercation was a euphemism for drinking alone.

Solo almost exclusively. Pros, go where you wish, do what you want and strike up discussions with locals without feeling like you have to involve others. Cons, sample a bit but the real drinking has to wait until you get home and break out all those awesome crowlers and such. Always plan the trip around the best lunch stop.
