That's horrible, I'm really sorry to hear about it. I've struggled with whether its better to lose a furry part of the family in a quick manner or whether its better to have it take a while and you can really say goodbye. I've had both happen and they were both pretty tough. We have two cats and a dog and I'm dreading the day that we lose one of them. They're all relatively young (the cats are around 10, but they're indoor cats; the dog is 2) so hopefully future-me will have that handled. I'm really sorry for your loss @Kylo76.

My father-in-law went into surgery late last night for a double lung transplant (moderate smoking and working in a steel mill most of his life did him no favors, though it isn't COPD and the doctors don't directly relate his problems with either of those things). While surgery went well for him and he got the transplants he needed early enough to not need a heart as well (which was good as he probably would have been dead in a couple weeks if he hadn't gotten the transplant), that means that there's some family out there that has had a horrible weekend. We don't know if the donor was a father, a mother, never had children or what, but their loss, and their gift, has given my wife's family a great Father's Day present.

 

Just got out of the pool, now about to grill some 14oz bone-in ribeyes with sauteed mushrooms, peppers and onions, and corn on the cob.

#VBS mainly because I think this may officially be my favorite beer ever -- I have given out untappd 5's to a total of 4 different beers, one of which was my favorite by far when I first got into craft and I probably overrated. And two others are IPA's that I tried once.... I think this and Vanilla Rye are actually at the top of my list. Thanks so much @rspauldi , and RIP Oliver (@Kylo76 I don't think we are untappd friends, but I toasted your pup).

Sorry @Kylo76. Always hard to lose a pet. Know that you did the right thing. Part of being a great owner is knowing when to let go so your pet doesn't suffer.
