Exactly!!! They need to remove NYFRB from the site already! Otherwise, they might as well make a "malternative" category & include the "greats". Smirnoff Ice, Twisted Tea, Mike's... :stuck_out_tongue:

The only "hard" rootbeer I've tried was Sprecher and it was amazingly horrible. Agreed, these so called beers have no place here.

Hey man, sometimes you wanna get drunk on root beer floats. No shame in that.

When you want a break from the only 2 categories of craft beer - hop bombs and big dark beers - then it's either this (alcoholic root beer) or BMC? There are tons and tons and tons of other beer choices out there you seem to be excluding. If someone wants to drink Rowdy Root Beer then they should go ahead and drink it, but I don't follow the it's either this or BMC line of thought.

The article contains a lot of frank honesty from the company owner regarding his product's relationship to the competition. The PR department must not have been listening in on the conversation.

Hey, they even go so far into honesty that they admit it's a "malt beverage". See, they know this stuff's not a beer! Lord...

If it's around, I'll try it. If it's good, I'll have more; if not, I won't, and I'll lambast everything about it for the rest of my days. (What else can I do, right, guys?)

I know, it was part of my mockery of others' condescending attitudes toward this stuff.

There is no prohibition against using sugar in beer in the US, either pre- or post-fermentation. In fact, it is specifically mentioned as permissible adjunct in the Federal Code:
With many different forms of sugar (pg. 2-3 #10- Sugar and Syrups) in this list from the TTB of common industry brewing ingredients.

Never said there was. Doesn't change the fact that beers that taste like jolly ranchers or root beer are for people who spray tan and flex

No, but you did say that beer does not have sugar in it, which is false.

I don't really get what's so offensive about alcoholic root beer. Some people like the taste of root beer. Some people like alcoholic beverages. Some people like both of those things. Why is that so upsetting to you?
