What is your favourite BSDA? What age do you drink it at?

So far, I like St. Bernardus 12 at 2-3 years.

I voted Het Anker Blauw mainly because it's easy to find and quite nice fresh and at a few years. Maybe will get a chance sometime to try one with about 5 years on it. Many great choices listed.

Had a 10 year old Pannepot Reserva recently that blew my mind. Fresh, I'd have to go with Westy 12

I'll have to go with Trappistes Rochefort 10

Full disclosure: I have not had Achel, Abbaye Des Rocs, Abbaye Des Rocs or Pannepot

Right now I'd say I'm split between Cuvee Van de Keizer and Bink Grand Cru. Keizer has more dark fruitiness, while the Bink takes it into a whole new dimension of rich chocolate and earth.

Easily my favorite of the Belgian styles.

I like 'em all sorta-equally. Kasteel should be on that list, too.

La Trappe quad. I'm probably one of few, but I prefer paler fruitier quads.

Well, it's all down to different tastes and experiences, right? Not to mention the consideration of availability; There are some places (and since BA has for a long time been a U.S.A.-centric site, I'm referring to metro areas and U.S. states) where many of these brands/breweries simply aren't available, or at east haven't been available for such a long time.

In Minnesota the Unibroue brands have been around for at least 15 years, and I first got into them when I lived in Boston, so I've been enjoyed them on and off for about eighteen years.

Their Don De Dieu is my favorite, but it has a wheat focus, so is distinctly different from a Belgian Dark / Quad. I've had a couple of go-rounds with Troi Pistoles which have left me wanting some more oomph or something more, period, but for the most part it's been solid, at least. Maudite doesn't do it for me at all.

Still, I've mostly enjoyed their offerings and don't think I've come across a "dud" batch except for one batch of their
Éphémère which they voluntarily withdrew back in 2001.

Oh well; "Your Mileage May Vary", and all that jazz. Cheers!

I went with Pannepot - and all it's variations - my runner up would have been the St. Bernardus 12...
