Taking a family weekend up to vermont In a couple weeks and planning on going. Haven't been there since the expansion. Please keep in mind I have 3 Kids under 5, so we will be eating early and not lingering. Any input on what to expect is very appreciated it. Kids loved the place last time. Key things I'm curious about. .

Is the patio area kid friendly, or is the brew pub more adult oriented ?

Is the full menu available at the brew pub or is it an abbreviated pub menu ?

How is the beer to go situation ? I plan on Drinking HF on tap so Will so probably get the prohibition pig beer to go for the hotel room and to bring home. If we choose to sit in the restaurant , can we get crowlers there , or only at the brew pub ?

I think that's all for now. Just very excited / curious. We've been a few times and it's always a huge hit with the whole family. just haven't been since the expansion. Thanks in advance for any input !

I'm the brewer here so hopefully I can help you out.

The patio area is served from the brewpub and is kid-friendly, but it is a much smaller menu and we don't serve a kids menu out back. The food menu is chips and salsa and quac, quesadillas, several types of tacos, and some sandwiches.

Both the restaurant and brewery have the same draft list, but we only sell beer to-go from the brewery. So I'd recommend eating at the restaurant, and popping in after to grab some beer to go.

    Thanks!
    Nate

Thank you very much ! We will definitely eat at the restaurant then. Only make it up about once a year so we definitely want a proper meal. Appreciate all the input. Will just pop in the brewery quick after our meal. Thanks very much. Really looking forward to it.

I haven't been since the expansion, but I think it's great that they seem like separate entities. Almost like making 2 stops in Waterbury instead of one! Can't wait to check out the new space.

Is the brewery the same hours as the restaurant?

hill farmstead has not been on the beer list recently or at least as bountiful as it once was. wondering if the ramped up production of on-site brews is the reason.

If HF isn't on its not the end of the world for me. I am just not counting on getting to their brewery this time as it always takes a lot of time away from the kids activities. So if I get to try some on draft that'd be great. If not ,I'm sure there will be something else that's very enjoyable .

No need to bother going to HF- unless of course you wish to. You can find their beer on tap in the Waterbury area without the drive and time spent in the car. All of the big three are on a busy street, so keep an eye on the little ones.

HF comes and goes in all the local bars. Sometimes there's five HF beers sometimes none.

I was there yesterday and they had HF stuff on tap. That town is like beer heaven.
