Kane - Solitude is a pretty good option.

I voted other, but I must admit there are at least half on the list I haven't had. Dogfish Head Raison D'Extra absolutely blew me away and is listed in this category.
Not sure how old the bottle I had was.

In the rare instances I've had it, Westvleteren 12 has not disappointed. Definitely my favorite

How on god's green earth does one ask this question and not include Oerbier as a poll option?

    I voted for Westy.
But this list needs St. Bernardus Christmas Ale. That would be my #2

I don't really drink enough of these to have truly developed a favorite - but that's due more to cost than it is to my enjoyment of the style. St. Bernardus 12 is what I have had the most of, but I was also happy to see a couple mentions of Allagash Odyssey. I've got one of those on my shelf and am very much looking forward to it.

I meant "Bruin" not "classic" for Abbaye des Rocs in the poll. I must have forgot the name.

This poll has inspired me to organize a blind tasting. I have had about half the list, but spread out over many years. It's impossible to compare my preferences now to 10 years ago. Will report back soon.

Rochefort 10 and St. Bernardus 12 are neck and neck for me. But for the price point, a 750 from Unibroue is usually pretty hard to beat from a cost/value perspective - usually under $10 a bottle and great quality to boot.

No Love for Val Dieu Grand Cru? That beer is phenomenal.

I'm happy to see the love for Rochefort 8 as well as Van De Kaiser Blauw.

I'm glad I inspired a tasting event! Don't forget the examples I had no room to list, and try to keep the ages within 6 months of one another. Also, age differences are most dramatic when beers are younger. Comparing a 2 year St Bernardus with a young Rochefort 10 will be quite unfair.

I really enjoy Tripels, Quads and BSDAs, but Gulden Draak is horrible. And everything else by that brewery is "fake craft". All of their beers taste bad and mass produced, except Monk's Cafe.
