Your favorite Barleywine?

    So I managed to grab a 32 ounce fill of 2013 Bourbon County BW yesterday. Enjoying it tremendously but I'm torn between this and DFH Olde School as my #1. I'll call it a tie. Love the bourbon of this but figs and dates of DFH is great too. Have had quite a few BW's and looking for your #1.

    BA Bigfoot, probably. I haven't tried the Bourbon County BW, though.

    Unfortunately I have only tried Lagunitas Gnarleywine which I loved! But I have a bottle of Bigfoot that I'm putting a year of age on via tips from my community here on BA!

    Put two years age on a Sucaba and there's mine, along with a fresh BCBBW.

    Throw in 2014 Mirror Mirror for honorable mention.

    You're comparing two different styles. BCBBW is English Barleywine and DFH Olde School is American Barleywine.

    Haven't had many and they aren't really my favorite style. Or really that close to my favorite style, but Pretty Things - Our Finest Regards tasted REALLY good to me. I would buy that again for sure.

    I've had Smuttynose Barleywine from their Big Beer Series too with good results. I'm actually waiting till this years release to stash some away. My beer Gots page is packed full of these styles.
