He's tight-lipped on it but I know Apollo is one of the ones that is universally thought to be in there and I think Columbus is as well.

Canning is in our future, we need to make more beer before we can justify canning. Currently we can't produce enough to keep up with the tap room.

There is nothing I would like to see more than a cloudy CPA pouring from a can.

Agree with most of what you said here Ben, but I look at it this way; just the fact that there is constant ongoing banter back and forth in this thread is a small bit of progress. Think about all the past Pittsburgh threads that have gone by the wayside. The fact that this thread was kept open for a long as it was as well as continuous posting is something that didnt happen just a few years ago. I completely agree that it was off topic and not being productive at the current moment, but I like that there are so many people with a vested interest in the Pittsburgh beer scene.

Plus we have added a number of new brewers to these threads. We used to only get comments for Scott @eastendbrewing, now we get @brewgentlemen , @jagoffyinzer and the occasional @ChurchBrewCrew. I would personally like to see more of this

In response to the being a Fathead's fanboy I'd say I'm definitely a @brewgentlemen fanboy. Love most of their beers, their location, and their events. In the same ship of wishing they had more bottles distributed, but they'll get there.

I agree wholeheartedly. I really love the direction the Pittsburgh brewing scene is headed in (and even where it is now, relative to where it was before), as well as the relatively recent explosion of the local BA community, making something like this thread possible. I'd still read this thread for the useful information even if (and when) I have to wade through constant bickering to get to it, and would be thankful for the opportunity to do so. That's why we need to be extra mindful not to let it devolve into so much bickering that it gets shut down and we lose it for good.

This is on a different note here, but would anyone in this thread by chance have any HF shelfies, Mexican Cakes, or Heady Topper that they would be willing to trade? I have a New Glarus Wild Peach and a Vanilla Rye that I would part with for a little variety pack of the beers that I mentioned.

This will definetily be off topic somewhat, but I cant think of another place to post it. With all the talk of local bottle releases, or lack thereof, what about "regional" bottle releases? There are a number of "regional" breweries doing fairly regular bottle releases. Bullfrog, Tired Hands, Jackie O's, Great Lakes, Hardywood, just to name a few. I use the term "regional" lightly because some are farther away than others. My queston to everyone in this thread is how far are you willing to travel for releases, and how many in here make this a regular practice. I know of a number of people in this thread that already do this, Im interested to see how many others that I dont know personally that do this. All Im trying to figure out mostly is if I might run into other Pittsburghers at things like this, so be specific as possible. Also might be useful for some in they are looking for a ride, or for someone to #pickitupformebro.

I will say that I am pretty regular for Jackie O's releases, and havent missed a Bullfrog release since they released Oud 15. I have never been to Tired Hands, and went to Hardywood once for GBS release a few years back. I once drove to Ithica for a relase, never ever again. I used to attend the BA Blackout release regularly, but stopped doing that because of the price and setup. I was going to Hoppin Frog a lot but havent been since the Pappy van wink release mostly because they havent put out much of interest since. Im sure there are more that I cant think of right now so let the conversation ensue.

Bullfrog is the farthest I've gone for a release, and I've made the trek three different times. There about 3 or 4 guys I've recognized at Voodoo (both Homestead and Meadville), Gratitude Day, and Bullfrog. I always wonder if they are posters on here. Have never introduced myself, but I often see the same handful of people at every release within the near area.

Good question. I haven't marked any regional releases as ones that I need to venture off to. But I will be heading down to MBCP day at Funky Buddha again.

It goes back to how we have all been buzzing about bottle releases at BG, it is the fun part of the craft beer community that I know some of us miss from other breweries. I was hoping that during PCBW we would get a few fun bottle releases. Maybe next year.

I do not think that was me. The only people I talked to in line were a couple that came in from Philadelphia directly behind me.
