I am pretty sure I have received at least one that way, but it was a VERY tight fit (ie, the styro was cracked a little bit), and you probably couldn't fill every slot with a growler (but one or two should work).

If nobody gives you a better response today I'll check at home tonight.

I have done this successfully many times.

 

Sometimes you have to shove pretty hard, and once or twice I've cracked the styro, but yes, they fit.

I might try some vaseline or lotion next time I try one that isn't fitting well (that's what she said)

I met him at Pizza Boy during Harrisburg Beer Week, assuming it was the same guy. He was a very nice guy. Informative as anyone I've met on their lineup of beers and he answered a bunch of questions, I don't think many would including some tough questions on why some of their 'lambics' have been subpar. I love an honest salesman and not someone only interested in spin.

I survived the storm! Mostly unscathed.

I left work as it hit. Drove through it. Got diverted 3 times. Drove under a downed tree that was across the road.

I finally got home to a house with no power. I left home this morning, and still had no power. The electric company hasn't even gotten us an estimate for when it will be back... I'm hoping it is sooner than later, 'cuz 2 freezers full of food is gonna be a costly loss.

And to top it off Verizon Wireless service is down in South Jersey.

I'm pretty much actually living in a cave so I'm probably going to be a bit quiet if things don't change.

 

I hate IPAs, but love Yellow Rose, not sure why. But its different than most floral IPAs.

 

Sounds like you guys got it a lot worse than us up north. We had a relatively normal summer thunderstorm and that was it

Yeah, there are still about 300k people without power down here. Rumors of tornado touchdowns in at least 3 towns nearby, but none have been officially confirmed.

That sounds like the guy I met, definitely a good dude. Had it been a longer conversation I'd really like to have asked about the lambics, I'd be curious to hear about what he said sometime.

I instead used the opportunity to find out that end of this year or early next year, Ralphius will be bottled! I'm excited, as that's a pretty damn good beer; the first '5' I gave, and while I doubt it truly deserves a five, it's definitely solid.

Good luck man... 2 freezers of food would suck to lose, at least last time I lost power like that it was in 2 feet of snow (free alternative freezer). That event sparked me to invest in a generator, it's come in handy a couple times since (though not at small cost, the thing sucks up gas fast)

 

I have done this multiple times. I use my fingernails to lightly scrape some of the styrofoam off the inside of that slot to make the hole a little bit bigger (especially at the bottom). If you force it in it can cause cracking which isn't good. I have fit two growlers in the center two holes on a 12 shipper without issue.
