Up here (RI/SE MA) area, its common to see it for around 4.99 a single and 15-16 bucks a 4 pack.

    1. Is that common pricing around the country ?
    2. Why is it priced so much higher than the other "popular" imperial stouts ? Just because its canned maybe ?

It's a little lower than that here. It is still 14 or so a four pack. It is usually a little higher than most other options but I think it's good enough to justify it.

In NYC I find it for 5.50 - 6.50 per can. I really like this stout and wish I could find it for $3.50... want to put a 4 pack away for a year or two.

Same price in CT as RI. Ounce for ounce it is about the same as any imperial stout. At least great ones.

The price you mentioned is common in Chicagoland area.

As for why it's priced so much higher?... that I do not know.

    (1) $14 for 4-pack
    (2) Price might partially be due to the fact that it's a first wort runnings only beer, but I am not sure how many other big stouts also have that characteristic.

$14 or $15 for a 4-pk and IMO one of the best stouts to age.

Another case of my local store being way over priced on "special" beers, a 4 pack of Ten Fidy is $18.

Ten Fidy is one of the beers that i buy most of. Each time i purchase a 4-pack of 12oz cans my wallet hurts but once i crack them open i have no regrets. I think they're usually $15.99-$17.99 at my LBS or Bevmo in the SF Bay Area. Currently aging a pack for a year or two.

My (rough) math is always - $15 for a 4 pack means $7.50 for a bomber. (roughly)

$14 around here; it's one of those beers I stay away from unless I am having a particular craving for it. Old Raspy is much more reasonably priced.

I'll spend the extra for Ten Fidy. Old Rasp doesn't hold a candle to it...
