...and as I said before, gotta have some good stuff to share during GABF week! Anyone else coming to the Locals GABF share? @HoppySeb , @treznor , @vitaminvert ....hopefully some more of you fellas!

 

@MCMASTERSANCHEZ blew up my porch today with *two* AA boxes. This was suppose to be a small round but obviously he didn't listen to the rules.

He restocked my Zombie Dust supply with a 6 pack after demolishing my porch with a 12 pack just a couple months ago. Always happy to have ZD on hand. The rest of the beers are a great mix of my favorite styles...stouts, scotch ales, and barleywines.

Thanks so much Shaun for a couple of great boxes. It's been a tough week for me/wife due to a good friend from Indy being transferred down here to MD Anderson Cancer Center for 'advanced' treatment so it's nice to come home to something like this to brighten up the day. Much appreciated!

 

I might be now. It's in October? I've got some vacation days coming up and no one to tell me no.

 

While I am not wild about the GABF itself; listing a bunch of locals that I haven't met and bottle share has definitely piqued my interest....

 

Sept 24-26 this year if I'm not mistaken. It's a great week here in Denver!

#VBS - This is up there with Birth of Tragedy & Flora as best beer made by Hill Farmstead (that I've had)

 

Does anyone else find they dislike ANY saison over about 4.5%? I get this intense Hot-Dog/boiled meat aroma (autolysis? -v- intensity of underlying flavors) that makes these beers damn near undrinkable! I found I am extremely sensitive to certain phenolics which has led me to avoid most belgium beers. Am I alone here?

 

Thoughts on this one? Haven't heard much about this one or seen it around but ran across it yesterday and picked up a bottle.

More quality control for my extras inventory. Thanks to @PA-Michigander for giving me the heads up on this one, had passed over it a few times but it's a pretty solid beer.

 

Underwhelming to me but I do have to say I have am predisposed to dislike imperial saison of all sorts. Has some nice underlying flavors, glad I tried!

I plan on being out there again this year. Hopefully we can actually meet up this time unlike our failed attempt to meet up with @treznor (I believe). Might be wrong as I've had a beer or two between now and then.

Woohoo! Hopefully life doesn't screw things up, but the wife and I are planning on being there still.

The actual GABF festival is the least fun part of GABF week. I do enjoy it and will probably hit either the Thursday or Saturday afternoon session this year, but all of the other stuff is the fun stuff at this point. My wife was actually wondering when the heck we'd find time to have a bottle share during GABF week when I mentioned it

BTW, the beer you missed out on by not liking my post was http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/30654/95405/ , a 2014 Trillium Lineage Rye. Not the best beer in the world, but its decent. Its about the only post in the thread that you didn't like though, so I figured that was a clear message Since we are part of the 'keep it close to 150oz' group, it would have replaced the Dweller. Tough to say which is better, would probably depend on preferred styles.
