OP, do you bag your bottles or do box in box or use styro's etc. I can assure you, that regardless of how you packed it, if you had 1.5 liters of sticky New Glarus sugar-beer sloshing and leaking around in a box that the shipping company would have noticed and stopped the progress of the package. They would have inspected for haz substances and best case repacked and sent it on its way (does not happen). The only way the other guy gets a package with 2 broken 750's delivered to his house is if the delivery driver punted the shit out of the box and they broke on his doorstep. Either way, sounds fishy, hope yall get it all sorted out

Super fishy, especially considering that he's refusing to ship when his should have been on its way to you already by the time he "noticed" the "problem".

Just to provide another explanation: I picked up a soaked box with a broken growler because the delivery man obviously dropped it on its head and left. So you can get broken bottles delivered.

On the other hand, the first thing I did was take pictures.

I recently received a box that UPS broke, for sure one bottle leaked, it was in a bag and bubble wrapped and yet there was still a mess. However UPS claimed that they took out a couple of broken bottles which would explain why the box was sticky and smelling. Anyways the point is that a broken bottle makes a mess and it would be easy to show and I am surprised the box was not pulled aside and repacked as a broken bottle is not only messy but the smell is pretty obvious. I do think that since you asked for evidence the other trader should easily be able to prove his claim if he is legit.

Dude, out this guy now so nobody else falls for his BS. The first thing I would do is send pics to you. This guy is playing you.

Some exact dates for days you mention OP would help understand the situation better.

Ok he has said he will either send out 1 less SM or send the 3 out and I will send replacemts. He was kind of unclear as I made both suggestions again and he said "ok". Will update either when received or with his user name if nothing comes of this in a week.

This was my exact thought. I even told him, the reason I called him out instantly is because no one I know would hold their bottles for ransom. They would ship and then send a message saying hey I shipped but look at these pictures of broken bottles. Could we figure a solution, instead of hey I'm not sending until we figure something out. Seems really fishy, like he possibly doesn't have 3 SMS and was trying to figure out a way to send me less or something to that effect.

I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt and don't want to out him prematurely incase this is one big misunderstanding. His actions are very odd to this point but not everyone is an expert trader and does things in the same manner, so I'll wait now and out him in a week if nothing comes from his "yes" answer to my suggestions.

If he can't take a pic or provide proof that anything broke then I'm calling BS. Like I said, it doesn't give him an excuse for not shipping/now holding his side for ransom but it will make me at least give him a little credit.

If you don't mind PMing me his name I'd appreciate it so i can add to my do not trade list or block on this site

I once had fedex deliver me a soggy box in a plastic bag that reeked of FSW Sucaba, so it's possible they still delivered a box that had broken bottles.

Even an inexperienced trader should know to immediately take multiple, detailed pix of the damaged &/or wet, leaking box with the broken bottles. He should also send the beers he promised asap & demonstrate the same level of responsibility & trust that you've given him.

His box is inexcusably late. Holding onto the beers that he owes you is not acceptable.

Your initial responses appear to have been inflammatory & rude which might also have impeded communication.

You should tag him here not only so he can give his side but also to ensure that he too reads the opinions & suggestions here.

At this point neither of you is a bad trader. Hopefully you will both work to make amends & make this a positive trading experience.

At this point, I'm kind of wondering if OP won't out the other guy because he's embarrassed about what he said to the other trader in the initial "defensive" messages. Sounds like he got pretty rough jumping to conclusions. This whole thing shows why I "OVER-COMMUNICATE" in my trade discussions.

Sometime these bad traders threads intended to out someone as a bad trader have the opposite impact and out the OP as the bad trader. Wouldn't be surprised if this one headed in that direction.

OP... another way to get out of the situation... Tell him you will send him a shipping label and he can send your box back with the bottles that were not brocken. No harm no foul. If he opts not to do this then he is scamming you.

I would really like to hear his side of the story.

There is an open trade for the OP - at least, I can see it when I look at the trading page
