Sorry, Nein is not Misanthrope, Misanthrope is always barrel aged. We are drinking a BOTTLE aged Misanthrope. Nein is something different.

He has since corrected it. Misanthrope is wine barrel-aged Cynic, and is therefore always barrel-aged. Todd was drinking Misanthrope in the picture, the bottle next to the glass is Smoke, and he was replying that it was not Nine in the picture with the German "Nein." Lots of confusion and for obvious reasons, but we've gotta kill misinformation before it gets spread.

That goes against everything these threads are about.

It's been rumored for a while, and they have the bottles just waiting to be filled (possibly are filled now if Todd was drinking one that was "bottle-aged.") As with Eight and Penta and everything else Surly, "When it's ready" is likely the answer.

I didn't ask when surly nine or nein or nueve or whatever language you choose was going to be ready...I've just simply asked what the style was going to be

Dude, I talking to the guy I replied to, @shadetree67, hence the blue part where I quoted him.

At this point, no one knows what Nyn, Nein, Nain, Nine, Knine, Knigne or any other variation of the spelling is going to be stylistically, though if you go back through the thread, you'll see that you never asked that anywhere anyway.

There are 11 posts in this thread; none of them contain you asking that question. You might be referring to a different thread, I don't know. The fact remains that the answer to your query is that no one outside Surly knows what Nine is gonna be.

I do know that Blakk Out Gose is supposed to come out in Fall was originally May, I hope that doesn't turn into the anniversary beer though. Todd and Misanthrope I would assume would be their own releases.

Smoked banana? Doesn't sound appetizing but color me intrigued.

"Inspired by a recent trip to Bamberg, Germany. NEIN is brewed with oak-smoked wheat malt, fermented with German Hefe yeast and aged on charred oak. It's a huge, complex, dark beer, delivering the intense flavors of smoked banana, vanilla and clove."

Sooo, kind of like a barrel aged, darker, cloudier Seviin with switching the dominate flavor to banana vs the cloves (German vs Belgian style)?

Edit: scratch that train of thought, probably not similar.
