Do any of BA's drink Lite beers? I'm talking about buying them yourself for your own consumption.

I currently have some Straub Light in my fridge. I think it's pretty good, and interestingly, according to their website, they hop it more than their heavy version.

I also enjoy some Hamm's special light when it's hot out.

I like the ones that lean towards the crisper side with a little dryness/hop bite. It's like drinking water with a little beer taste.

I especially like trying regional beer AALs Lite versions. My cousin gave me a can of Coors Light when we were off roading in his jeep and it really was perfect for the occasion.

What lite beers do BA's prefer? And I don't mean pilsners or german lagers. I'm speaking about the low cost low calorie stuff.

(Let the sarcasm and flaming ensue.)

Many BA's drink and post about drinking lite beers. Lite beers that they call session IPA's.

I think that when I want to drink lighter it's the lager, the pils and the pale ale for a more hoppy punch.

Session beers would not apply as a lite beer. The idea behind lite beers is to have the least amount of carbohydrates as possible. A Founders All Day IPA is 147 calories and would definitely not fit that description.

That is only 37 more calories than in Bud Light.

I'll occasionally have a light beer, but not often a "Lite" beer as I seem to have an allergic reaction to it. And if I was somewhere where it was appropriate (i.e. deep sea fishing trip for 8 hours) I'd be all over it. Every beer has it's place and time (although there are a few that might be argued!!!).

Yuengling Light is my "lite" beer of choice. It's no contest.

Yard's Brawler is definitely in the light category and I will drink it a lot. Doesn't have light on the label though.

Beg to differ. Evil Twin Bikini is 2.7% ABV and think calories are in the 80's.

I'm not afraid to admit that Coors Light is my go to when I just want a big, cheap, frosty mug of "beer" to serve more as refreshment than as a masterpiece to be dissected.

I dont exercise or work out and I have a small gut from all the beer I drink so I decided to give lite beers a try. I think Ill just try to drink less beer instead. That being said, Ill have Gansett Light occasionally since its a local staple. Ive found bombers to be very effective over a 4 or 6 pack because it forces you to drink less beer if you are having a weight issue.

I don't know how many calories are in de Garde's Bu Weisse, but at 2.3% I consider it a lite beer.

Unless I'm stuck judging light lagers at a competition (against my request), then no. And this has nothing to do with "snobbery." It's personal taste. I believe there are beer lovers out there who appreciate a real "clean" taste, but I'm a glutton for lots of flavor. And if you mean light as in "diet," then no, never. I'd rather just drink straight vodka than Amstel Light, because I don't believe in sacrificing quality for fewer calories.
