Honestly, I am surprised that these beers just sit on shelves at $8-9. They are better than many special release beers that I have had. (or Hoppin' Frog's award winning stouts that are twice as much)

    Siren Noire is fantastic too.

Two beers is a reasonable expectation for a sunday I should think . :grinning:

When I first started hanging around NBS, I used to be amazed by people that would have 3-4 high gravity beers during the course of a day. Now I'm frequently one of those people.:grimacing::rolling_eyes::wink:

    1) Agreed, @WesMantooth put us all to shame with his posting genius last night :-)
    2) You're right, it would've been nothing without all of our great & enthusiastic participants!
    3) I think if last night is any indication, we really have something good to build on here. Saturdays definitely feels like the right day for it, although clearly not next Saturday

If it makes you feel any better, I don't know what MST3K is... I also don't know what that extra B you threw in WBAYDN stands for.

Never seen the movie, but somewhere I've got an album that lifts that scene into a song.

I thought so! I love that movie, though that's not a universal opinion (I tend to unconditionally love Wes Anderson movies). I personally thought Bill Murry was better in that than in Lost In Translation.

I've seen Plan 9 many times as well. Definitely another stinker, but at least it has that Ed Wood campy/kitschy quality. Manos doesn't have that. It's so bad that it's...just plain fucking awful !

Ever see It Came From Hollywood? It came out years before MST3K, but it's the same format, except Cheech & Chong, Gilda Radner, John Candy and Dan Ackroyd are doing the riffing of many dozens of bad movies. It's divided into sections, and there's one devoted to Ed Wood's movies.

I'm back. I'm officially done with yard work and I can relax from now on.

This beer is a collaboration between Odell and Boulevard. Colorado and Missouri, and somewhere in-between them, I reside. This was supposed to be my 1,000th review beer, but I made a change of plans and will use a different brew for that.

Silver is an American Strong Ale weighing in at 7.3% ... not my typical kind of beer style, but I'm up for most anything.

Look: A really nice caramel, rusty amber colored body. The cream colored head recedes to a nice film leaving spots of random lacing.

Aroma: A good malt bill brings out some caramel as well as some honey. There's a touch of wood in here but not anything close to oak barrels or anything that strong.

Taste: Delightfully sweet with caramel and honey notes again, but as it warms it gets a little tangy with black tea coming to mind. The finish is a little bit metallic if not musty even. It leaves a tangy aftertaste.

Mouthfeel: Surprisingly smooth and light. Well hidden ABV.

    Overall: 4.01 rating, +8.4 rDev.

I like it a lot. It's probably one of the smoothest strong ales I've tried, not that I've tried many. This is a very approachable beer, whatever that means LOL. I'm off now to read all of your NBS reviews. And look - sometimes beer and music just match up so perfectly. Here's yet more Billy Corgan for you with a classic from Siamese Dream. Silverf*ck ...

You should see the ESPN movie "Requiem for the Big East," if you haven't. Will break your heart.

I love your glassware. I used something similar for a Stone Chai-Spiced Stout and I enjoyed it.

I had forgotten all about that. I don't think I've seen it since...the mid 80's or so ? I wonder if that's on DVD somewhere.
