Meh, they'll get over it. At least they don't brew a Twig and Berries wit.

Curious as to everyone's thoughts on EZ-7. I found the dry hopping to be a bit overboard and even though it was 5% ABV it tasted like a DIPA. I think it's a killer beer and glad it's showing up around town. Can't wait for ***** Wagon, Vulgar Display of Power, and Cortado.

Had EZ - 7 again today.... Absolutely incredible. Other than Yellow Rose, there isnt much of a debate as to our new hoppy overlord in Texas now is

WF Katy and Growler Spot should be getting kegs this week. I'd imagine SL Saucer as well.

Just had one at Whole Foods on Post Oak. Very impressive that they are able to pack all of the aroma and flavor of a DIPA in to the body and ABV of an APA. However, after finishing one off, I did not want another one. This beer confuses my palate. When I think of a great APA, I think of one that I could drink 2 or 3 of while grilling on a hot summer day or after mowing the lawn. Crisp and refreshing. This does not fit in that category. That is okay, but I am not going to reach for this as a weekend go-to once they are in six packs.

TL;DR: I like it. If there were such thing as an Imperial Pale, this would be it.

I guess you all are cooler than me, cause I don't get it? No way this (edit: EZ-7) is as good as anything Lone Pint has done, not to mention Meta Modern. No balance, no nuance, just bitter. Not something I care to have again, but that is Brash so if that is what you like, go for it.

I had another last night at Petrol. Not as overwhelmingly hoppy as the one at Whole Foods but still just not something I see myself going back to over and over again.

I think I'd say I would prefer a pale ale not to taste like a DIPA but I really won't know until I try this.

    Interesting.

It is super interesting and very very aggressive for a pale ale. I love it but I can see how many people would get thrown off thinking they are getting a light pale but first sip is a hop explosion. He really late addition/dry hopped the crap out of it.

thin and overly bitter, but shows promise.
    was a decent pint.

dry hopping is an art, not a competition,
would love to see peoples thoughts on this beer if tasted blindly.

Funny, I had a DIPA right after a pint of EZ-7 and I thought EZ-7 was waay more bitter and not easy. It was bitter in your face for a pale ale and more so than most IPA/IIPA for that matter. Granted, it is only 5% but not that easy drinking. Still good, but the name is misleading.
