Day 2:



1st off, If I got 12 Westbrook Gose as my 12 days I would be very happy. This is my HAPPY BEER.


But its been one of those days and I have to be in work in less than 6 hours so fuck it:



Proper glassware as well, going to be a long morning…..

 

And on the second day, @jawas said "Let there be hops."

 

Hell of a 4th. Spent much of the day behind a grill. I need a bigger grill :-)

Keeping the 12 days rolling. Here's not one, but 2 brews that I'll be consuming today. Both are firsts. Also, today begins shark week so my son had to get his custom shark visor in the pic.

Today's treats are courtesy of @vitaminvert, all from Crooked Stave. The #VBS is my Day 2, preceeded (yes, at 10 am, don't judge) by the Late Spring St Bretta, and on deck is the Petit Sour Sour Cherry, both extras.

Recently did 15-18 (had plenty of help) and to me, 18 is the best of the lot. So damn good and balanced.

 

FYI, Black Tuesday bottles are perfect for setting off bottle rockets.

 

I'm going to keep it going with Day 2.



A perfect beer for the perfect leftovers. This one was really good. Bright and clean. Great stuff.

Had this back when I worked in Texas a lil more than a year ago. Great black IPA, love this brewery!

 

Day 2 #12SOS

Yet another Bruery bottle...I see where this is going.

Sourrento today which at 7.7% is manageable after the the first day, lol. This one is awesome and something I would probably never have a chance to enjoy if it wasn't for this BIF.

Smell is very much lemon and vanilla. Taste starts with tart lemons and finishes with what I can only call vanilla cake batter. Absolutely delicious! Thx again @campa86 !



Also pairs well with a leftover cupcake!

That is my favorite experimental beer they came out with last year, I hope they bring it back on a regular basis in the future, totally agree with you, about the taste. To me it is lemon cake.

@Dave_Treat - Just as a little hint tonight's brew has a definite theme related to your recent activities... Hope you aren't afraid of the dark . I have been saving this one until I could find someone with a 'unique' palate that could appreciate what I found to be a VERY under rated brew.
EDIT: I'm not sure how it aged but a friend tried one recently and said it was heading a really good direction.

 

Day #2... @bevoduz . Bam, hit another want!
The mystery...

Dark, near opaque with dark brown highlights around edges. Initial aromas were a clean dark chocolate followed by intense coffee with light esters (cherry and raspberry). Flavor follows same suit but there seems to almost be some refreshing, tongue cleansing alcohol notes (maybe young whiskey?). Same esters in flavor with some light fresh strawberry in there too. Medium body with an alcohol cleanse in the finish. No Hops. No idea what this is.

Weyerbacher Sunday Morning Stout. I have been really wanting to try this one since I have seen several people post pictures of it on shares. I do have to say this was the first Weyerbacher I have enjoyed!

 

#VBS Might as well keep this party going. It's a good thing my boy @NickyPogs has a bad memory and sent me 2 of these. Now I can age one!
