Wow, that's quite generous. Maybe I'll hang on to my last FO until it's worth a CCK or sumtin.

I tried to go 2:1 FO for CFH. Only one person offered anything and it was 1+ other stuff.

Thought it was fair enough. I guess not! Lol

Just cracked one. Definitely more vanilla than VR, actually like it a bit more.

Yeah, it appears the trading on it has tightened up a ton.

One thing I noticed on release day (at least in the pub line) was that quite a few people were only purchasing 1-3 bottles. I assume the warehouse like was pretty much all 6pks but with only ~2000 bottles I could see supplies of this FT running down quickly.

I got my 6 and a pour thankfully so I can resist popping a bottle out of curiosity. For me it is so good that I won't be trading it away other than maybe as a gift/extra for close trading partners as a 'you need to try this one' type of situation. I'm sure if the right FT/ISO came along I'd let 1-2 go though, just not in any hurry.

It seemed like there were a fair amount of people who walked away with 12-18 bottles

We did a side-by-side with Vanilla Rye, and the result was pretty even with everyone that tried it. Personally, I give it to VR. Tasted way different than it did in December. Vanilla, sugar on the nose and marshmallow on the finish. FO had some barrel heat on it with a somewhat muted vanilla nose. I had it once before, and I remember it being a vanilla bomb! It did get WAY better as it warmed up.

And a fair amount of people, such as myself, who didn't even get one.

To be even more fair, I'm sure plenty of those people you saw walking away with a case were actually just consolidating transportation options...my friend and I walked out with a case...12 bottles for the two of us, but if you just saw me walking with the case you might have thought they were all mine.

For those buying the 6 bottles, they would put them in a case box. 5 and under they would give them to you in bags (2 per bag).

Can't wait to see some reviews from people out of state. This whole throwing up 5s just to add trade value is getting ridiculous on here. If people on this thread are saying it's not as good as Bourbon County vanilla then, well the inflated ratings are clear as day.

CFH went for minimum $65 this year unless you stood in line all night.

Never had either from the bottle yet(only have FO), but when I had VR on tap during the migration week, IMO it was a bit sweet compared to FO.

Exactly! I thought I was accounting for the hype by taking the "$5+stayed in line all night" or "$65 online" hit.

Im with you brother, this beer is nowhere near what these people trying to trade for whalez are making it out to be. Not even close to vanilla rye, and its funny how its a perfect 5 to these guys yet they are so quick to wanna get rid of it.
